It was beautiful. The streets were almost cobble stone, but not, they just created that affect that
With our 1 st wedding anniversary luxury new orlando hotels coming up and with us being rather tired of Iowa and Adventureland, we decided that we should take a road trip for our anniversary, stay in a hotel and have some fun.
So after much research, we decided to take a drive to Kansas City Missouri. We booked ourselves into a cheap hotel, the Comfort Inn and Suites Downtown, and packed up a few things and we were off on Tuesday the 9 th of August.
It was like a weight was lifted off us, as soon as we were in the car and were driving, we were smiling and ready for fun. The trip was about 5 hours and it was pretty much a straight trip down to Missouri.
luxury new orlando hotels Obviously when you book a cheap hotel you get a bit worried about it's location and that state of the hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised. The Comfort Inn Suites Downtown Kansas City was just what we needed. It was super clean, comfortable, conveniently located and it had complimentary parking and smoking rooms. So we couldn't ask for anything more.
Our first night there, we decided that we'd just have a nice pizza for dinner luxury new orlando hotels and walk around the area a bit. So we used our GPS to find us a pizza place. Unfortunately we thought that the Anthony's luxury new orlando hotels that we picked was like the one in Florida with the amazing pizza's, but this was a really nice Italian restaurant, but they didn't serve pizza. So we had some nice pasta and a few drinks and headed back to our hotel room.
During our stay we must've had about 3 showers luxury new orlando hotels and even a bath or two. We haven't lain down in a bath since we arrived in the USA, so it was quite a treat. Constant hot water is something you can take for granted. Long hot showers don't exist in an RV.
We woke up relatively early (showered) and then we made our way to the city center on foot. We found the tourist information center and got ourselves a few maps and ideas as to where we could spend the day, and a glorious day it was, sun shining, no rain, it was like heaven.
We decided to go to the newest Downtown luxury new orlando hotels area called the Power and light district. It seems to be a place where they have established a lot of bars and restaurants and they have a big screen to show all the necessary sporting events or perhaps even live shows too.
Then we decided that in order to get around town, we needed to catch the local metro busses. It cost us $3.00 each for the entire day, you can just hop on and hop off any bus you want. It's a really neat way to visit a city.
Kansas City is the city of fountains, it has fountains everywhere – but the coolest thing we saw were kids running through the fountains and having an absolute blast in their bathing suites. It was great that they allow people to do this on hot summer days.
We went from the Mall to the Hallmark Cards Visitor center. Their headoffice is here in Kansas City. The visitors center is free and is the nicest place we've been to. It was so interesting to find out the history of the Hall family and that the business is still in the family. They make millions of cards and after seeing the process involved in making those cards, you can finally appreciate why cards have become so expensive over the years. It was truly a great way to spend some of our afternoon and we would recommend it to anyone.
We then decided to head out to the Country Club Plaza area, which is one of the areas we considered staying luxury new orlando hotels in, but the hotels were pretty pricy. When we arrived in the area, we realized why they were priced so high.
It was beautiful. The streets were almost cobble stone, but not, they just created that affect that you thought you were walking the streets of St Tropez (or how I would imagine St Tropez luxury new orlando hotels to be). The stores that lined the streets were exclusive boutiques and brand names. So we were glad we saw this area, but glad we didn't stay here as we would've ended up spending way too much money here.
So we headed luxury new orlando hotels out on foot and got to the bar. We had a beer or two and then being in the anniversary spirit, we decided to have some shots of Jagermeister. Well, I guess when you're not driving a car, you forget that you can usually only have 2 maybe 3 shots. But on the 5 th shot, we decided that we better grab the pizza and stagger home. We giggled and laughed so much – it was truly a fun night out. Great to let your hair down every once in a while.
So we got back to the room, tried to eat the pizza, but there was garlic on it and way too much. So we thought we should luxury new orlando hotels open the champagne we bought. We both took about one sip and then closed our eyes and headed off to dreamland.
