The Garden Hotel is on the 1st floor of a modern building with a park and sea view. Completely modified and renovated in 2002 the Garden Hotel Levanto is the Gateway to Levanto s coast line and the Cinque Terre. Noticeable are the standards of service and friendship that only a smaller family run hotel like this can offer.
All the newly refurbished rooms come standard with en-suite bathroom, shower, hair dryer, telephone, room-safe, satellite-TV, bar-fridge and air conditioning. All rooms have a balcony and from some of them you can enjoy a view over the sea.(Be sure to request a room with a sea view.)
My son and I were glad to have chosen Levanto as our starting point to discover the Cinque Terre and also that we had chosen the Garden Hotel Levanto Italy. The owners are ultra friendly, speak very good English, and did everything possible to make us comfortable. Of all the hotels which stayed cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy in during our trip we both agreed that the Garden Hotel Levante was the best value for money and most enjoyable. 80 euro/night including breakfast!
The breakfast was generous and good, the rooms clean comfortable and spacious. The bathroom cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy has a lovely power shower in what seemed to be a brand new bathroom. The balcony we had overlooked the street and unfortunately the sea view was blocked by a road, but this didn't lessen our enjoyment as we spent very little time in the hotel.
Parking is a little difficult though. You have to walk a good mile to park your car in the hotel's reserved spots next to the train station. However you are able to load and unload you stuff in front of the hotel. Be warned though that the hotel is not on the ground floor and the elevator does not stop at the hotel's cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy floor, however the staff gladly carried our bags up!
There is a very nice beach only a few feet from the hotel and you are only 10 minutes walk from the station - from where you can get to the Cinque Terre. Be sure to get yourself a train timetable from the hotel so as not to waste time waiting at the station.
We used the hotel as our base from which to explore the Cinque Terre. The hike which we did from Levanto to Monterasso was one of the trip highlights - and the start of the trail is not even a 5 minute walk from the hotel!
Another plus I should mention was the free internet access in the lobby. Came in handy for a quick check of e-mails and some travel info. There was also a small library of travel information and other books in the lobby.
Mind you, there is an Austrian couple who have been going for 35 years... We were initially concerned about the change of ownership of the hotel and that things wouldn't be the same - they weren't. The new owners, Damiano cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy and Davide, are ploughing considerable amounts of time and money into renovating the hotel during the off season and create a more professional yet homely atmosphere.
At it stands there is a choice of a new luxurious en-suite room or a more basic rooms, this is reflected in their rates. No matter which room you choose rest assured that Carla and the housekeeping staff will keep then scrupulously clean.
The owners all speak excellent English (although Davide has promised to improve.... ha ha) and it seems thet get on with all of the guests no matter whether cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy they are backpackers, pensioners, families or whatever. They are always more than willing to help with info, directions, things to do in Levante, restaurants etc. - ask them to book a table for you at La Loggia.... They will even help with your travel arrangements when you're leaving, you really couldn't ask for more. We have travelled virtually all over Europe and have yet to find as nice a place for the money charged.
Ok, to the basics... The location of Hotel Garden Levanto Italy is perfect - only 10 minutes walk to the train station which connects Levanto with Cinque Terre, Pisa etc. The ferry is only a few minutes walk away. You can take very pleasant boat trips north to Portofino and also South to Cinque Terre. We did a trip from the harbour (20 euros) and visited all of the Cinque Terre and Portavenere. The boat leaves at 10.10am cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy and returns at 1930 but you can hop on or off at different stops.
Levanto town itself has everything you need and in my opinion it's the place to stay when visiting cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy the Cinque Terre. Levanto has many more options than some of the other smaller cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy towns around. Everything is in walking distance with a good selection of restaurants, stores, ATMs (that work), etc. more so than Cinque Terre.
The Garden hotel Levanto is clean modern spacious and the bathrooms are equipped with nice strong showers with plenty of hot water. The hotel is quiet enough but you are near enough to the sea front to still hear the waves crashing onto the shores in the morning.
Our room was recently decorated, clean and comfortable with all the standard extras - hair dryer, safe, television with some English language channels. We loved to sit on our balcony in the evenings while watching the people passing by on the lively street below (although luckily when we shut the window there was no noise to keep us awake).
The buffet breakfast offers a good start to the day with cereals, bread, jams etc and a little fresh fruit - plentiful, we even had Americano coffee another rarity cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy in Italy (ok, Lungo is close enough). The kitchen staff were also very helpful.
The best restaurant we think is the "Le 3 cantine" on Via Dante (only two minutes walk around cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy the corner). The giant prawns cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy and tuna fillet served slightly pink in Balsamic sauce...absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced.
The computer is in the lobby, and once when my wife needed to check her email but someone cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy was busy with it for a while, the gentleman at the front desk came to call us when it was free. That's service for you!
The Nazionale Hotel Levanto Italy is the oldest of the town and situated in a convenient position only 100 meters cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy from the sea and a short distance from the fabulous hills surrounding the charming medieval town of Levanto. The Liberty style facade and palm trees in front are inviting for guests cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy arriving at the Nazionale hotel. There is a cosy breakfast room with access to a secluded garden full of gardenias, jasmines and hortensias - a perfumed and multicoloured ambiance. The Nazionale hotel Levanto boasts a solarium-terrace with stunning views of Levanto and the surrounding hills.
We were pleasantly surprised to meet Angela the owner, who spoke excellent English. Levante Italy was way off the beaten track then, but we loved it! Our overnight stay then was memorable, as we enjoyed one of the most humble but fantastic meals we have ever had!
Angela gave us fresh yogurt with honey the next morning and explained to us how to get to the coop where we bought many bottles cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy of olive oil to take back to Paris with us. I now see that the Nazionale hotel Levanto has just been refurbished cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy beautifully and I would love to go back. I would heartily recommend it to anyone! cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy Angela is a dream ...
After making the online hotel reservation I happened to read a negative review about the beds being very uncomfortable. We then exchanged a number of emails with the hotel reception and, with some reserved feelings, decided to go ahead with the booking, even if the hotel staff hadn't succeeded in fully satisfying our concerns about the quality of the beds.
The hotel Nazionale Levante cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy itself is in a lovely structure but as with so many other buildings in Levanto, it looked as though it has seen better and grander days. That being said, its location within Levanto Italy could not be better. It was very central, with the beach only a 5-minute walk away. The train station was perhaps a little further: about 10 to 15 minutes on foot from the hotel.
Our room was spacious, comfortable and we were extremely relieved to discover that the mattresses cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy were fine! In fact, we can't complain about the quality of sleep which we had whilst there. What was very cramped, however, cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy was the bathroom. You have to see it to believe it. It took me three separate manoeuvres to get in, then close the door, and finally squeeze past the sink in order to find the loo, which is tucked behind the door! Still, it was a 4-piece suite including bidet, the shower had plenty of pressure, cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy and everything worked fine and was clean. We had some problems with the air-conditioning - it seemed to work but did not produce enough cool air to bring the temperature to below 27-28 degrees.
Breakfast was sufficient. There was a good selection for a buffet breakfast, cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy except I found the coffee poor. However, as breakfast is in the hotels pretty garden, it definitely makes for a great start to the day. The hotel offers dinner but we opted out, even though the set menu posted in the lift looked quite tempting.
The staff at reception were very friendly cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy and helpful. The hotel has been family-run for decades, and the two ladies who staff the reception have a lovely way about them - able to answer our every question. On our final day, we were given plenty of good advice which helped us to avoid a train strike which at the time we were unaware of, and would have dashed our days plans, had we not been given the heads-up.
To summarize, at 135EUR (per room, per night) including breakfast, we did not think the Hotel Nazionale cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy Levanto was very good value for money. cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy Although I do understand that this is close to the going rate in Levanto, perhaps the other Levanto cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy Italy Hotels can justify this price by offering a better standard of accommodation?
The Hotel Nazionale Levanto is a wonderful place, very hospitable staff, great breakfast, comfortable, excellent location, beautiful furnishings, spotless room. Everything was perfect about this place. We will definitely be going back.
# I would recommend this hotel for: Young singles, an amazing cost of roundtrip airline tickets to italy honeymoon or romantic getaway, girlfriends getaway, People with disabilities, Older travelers, Pet owners, Families with young children or teenagers, and generally, Tourists.
I hope that these ti
