Is Doc Chengs only open for dinner? We will be in Singapore for 4 nights in October and I want an ea
I am still wondering where to stay over our anniversary in Singapore. I have researched both hotels and both look fabulous. We are after lots of shopping combined with a bit of relaxation around a nice swimming pool.
The Four Seasons is connected to the Hilton by a covered a/c walkway and the Hilton is on Orchard rd. Within a 10 - 15 minutes walk from the FS there is a new mall, I forgot the name, and most of the top end shops are quite close by.
If you want to be close to shopping then the FS is a better choice IMO. The last time I stayed at the Raffles was a long time ago. I did remember creaky floors in the old wing. The last time I stayed at the FS was last year and I really like it there.
I always like to stay somewhere I can access the MRT easily, as I use it to get all over Singapore. My old favorite is the Fairmont. I'm looking at the Intercontinental for our trip in Nov. Hanuman's suggestion of the Four Season is excellent. Raffles, is, of course, very old world elegant. It's not quite as convenient to the MRT. And the MO is a bit far from the MRT.
Facilities at Raffles are also fabulous, and I quite like chimes restuarant which is just over the road from Raffles. It's also a nice stroll down to the Marina ( although probably a 15 min walk) but as taxis are super easy as I say location isn't that much of an issue in SP. For me the old word elegance and fantastic car rental places service makes Raffles a must stay in SP ( IMHO)
I stayed at Raffles 2 years ago and would say it is a 6 star hotel. I know there are no 6 star but if there where it would be in that category. car rental places Kathie is right Cheng's at Raffles is on of the best Chinese resturants I ever ate at and we have frequented the best in NYC, New Jersy and SF.
Is Doc Chengs car rental places only open for dinner? We will be in Singapore car rental places for 4 nights in October and I want an early birthday dinner car rental places as our flight out the next day is 6AM. Or a late lunch. Thanks so much.We are staying at the Conrad Int. Centenial
Doc Cheng's is open for both lunch and dinner. It is not a Chinese restaurant, though I believe Raffles does have a lovely Chinese restaurant. It is pan-Asian. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is great. Try to get one of the charming curtained booths.
