To enjoy your holiday in the Balearics when it's not summer anymore, you should plan lots of visit and activities in order not to spend your days in your Majorca hotel . And if you are going to Mallorca, (preferably in the North East of Majorca), then you should really consider visiting the Royal Monastery of Valldemossa .
Valldemossa is a little village in the North East of Mallorca, only 17 km far from Palma de Mallorca. It is therefore very peaceful, and you will be able to enjoy your day in a natural environment, as music composer Chopin and his companion George Sand did in 1838-1839. The village of Valldemossa is also known as the birthplace of Saint Catherine Thomas (Santa Catalina Thomàs), who is an important saint in Majorca, and for having hosted several other famous people. wwwradissons cruise ship jobs However, it is mostly famous for its Royal Monastery. The Royal Monastery of Valldemossa

Nowadays, you can visit the Royal Monastery of Valldemossa , but you will see how it was in 1835. Indeed, some elements that had been built at the beginning- like a Gothic Church and a cloister, among others- have been destroyed.
Here are all you will see during your visit of the Royal Monastery: • The neo-classic church : it was built in 1717, but was never completed as the works stopped in 1835 with the confiscation of the building. The perfect proof of that unfinished work is the double bell tower, with one tower incomplete.
• King Sancho's Palace : This is the building used as a royal residence and then later as the first home of the monks. Out of the original elements of the building, the staircase, the cloister and the defense tower are the only ones that remain preserved.
