Danish shoe designer Camilla Skovgaard and acclaimed "City of Life" director Ali F. Mostafa hosted the global premiere of their highly anticipated fashion film, Hotel Skovgaard, Room 77 on September 5, 2012 at gallery space The Hole. Shot in Dubai, where Skovgaard began her career and still maintains a residence, the designer dims the lights on the glitzy city in this unconventional fashion short, set to a custom track by Zebra Katz. Featuring accessories from her Autumn / Winter 2012 and Resort 2013 collections and custom furniture, Skovgaard's transgressive interpretation of fashion and beauty is realized in the surreal tenants of Room 77.
Camilla Skovgaard's bold, innovative, asia hotel in bangkok and instantly recognizable footwear is the product of a personal passion of the introvert and the alternative. Skovgaard found success directly out of London's Royal College of Art, when, in 2006, while she was still enrolled as a student, Saks Fifth Avenue ordered her first collection. She was honoured with the Queen Elizabeth Scholar Award for Excellence in British Craftsmanship in 2007 and nominated for Accessories Designer of the Year at the 2010 British Fashion Awards. After receiving his M.A. from the London Film School in 2005, Mostafa started a production company, AFM Films and has produced films, documentaries and commercials for more than seven years. Mostafa s graduation short film "Under the Sun" earned several nominations for "Best Foreign Film" in international festivals and won "Best Emirates Film" in the 2006 Emirates asia hotel in bangkok Film Competition. Mostafa was named "Best Emirati Filmmaker" by the Dubai International Film Festival in 2007 for his work on "Under the Sun" and "2010 Young Filmmaker of the Year" by Digital Studio magazine for his debut feature "City of Life".
