It s a killer view, thanks to a full wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. When I first walked into the apartment, with the shades drawn open, it elicited an immediate reaction along the lines of   I love it!
Located within the three-year old, 24-story Nueva Alejandria building, this apartment is within walking cruising guide from maine to nova scotia distance of four of Medellin s newest, upscale malls (La Strada, Rio Sur, Oviedo, and Santa Fe).
Between these malls, you re literally a few minutes walk from and endless cruising guide from maine to nova scotia amount of shops, countless restaurants and bars (including the Hard Rock Cafe), three discotecas , and two large movie theaters.
This strip of Avenida Poblado is called Milla de Oro (the Golden Mile) on account of the wealthy people who began moving to the area in the 1970 s, and more recently, the plethora of upscale shopping, hotels, and medical cruising guide from maine to nova scotia clinics. It s also one of the city s business centers.
As you can see in the photos, this is a bright, spacious, and modern apartment. The large windows let in tons of natural light, meaning you ll rarely need to turn on the electric lights during the day.
A fast, dependable internet connection is vital to me, given I work from home, and the connection in this apartment delivered. For example, it was possible to stream HD video with little in the way of buffering delays.
OK now for an honest reality check regarding the price please. You state in your disclaimer your opinions are honest. $1,850 per month is A LOT of money for an apartment in Medellin particularly one that doesn t have a balcony and also has a view of a building site. Like you i m a foreigner who knows Medellin pretty well (have been living here for 2 years). I know several people living in luxury apartments, kitted out to a similar spec , in a similar area, paying a fair amount less. Even pitching it at Luxury / Business travellers cruising guide from maine to nova scotia i d say these prices are bloated and anyone spending 2 minutes googling medellin apartments without having the local knowledge would see this . even those sites targeting foreigners.
I m not convinced by your statement that you would stay there and pay full rent for this upon your return (when you know medellin well). Are you really being honest? Maybe just maybe your words are a little influenced by the complimentary stay you received in writing this article?
So you stayed in the apartment for free in exchange for writing a glowing review and state in your disclaimer you still abide to being honest. As a foreigner who knows Medellin pretty well now (like myself have lived there for 2 years now) can we have the honest reality check now.
A friend of mine rented in the same building, direct from the apartment owner. He said it s common for the Colombian owners to charge crazy high rates the first month in an attempt to garner long term rentals. You can avoid those kinds of games by going through a 3rd party, but it s going to cost you extra.
This blog isn t geared toward budget travelers, per se. Medellin gets a lot of business travel, and there are an increasing number of entrepreneurs staying here. I met one of them on the 18th floor of the same building (though I didn t ask how much he s paying).
I felt comfortable writing the review because I want my blog to appeal to the full range of visitors, not just backpackers and budget travelers. What might be a lot to you and me, may be very little to others.
Yea, it sucks there s construction happening, but that s what I had to live with at Ciudad del Rio for 10 months. It s hardly cruising guide from maine to nova scotia a deal breaker for me, and unless you re looking down, I don t think it ruins the view.
$1,850 per month comes up to roughly $60 per night. If that is not dirt cheap for this view and quality, then I would like to know what else is out there for this price. This is a corner piece glass view. .
I would appreciate if you could provide some links as to places that are of better quality at this price in Medellin. I have searched online and yet to find one. I am particualrly interested in a place that has a glass view such as this.
