We are not easily pleased but couldn't find fault with the BW Hotel Canada Rome Italy in any way whatsoever. As our stay was a romantic trip celebration we requested a romantic room on a high floor with a good view. We got all 3! I think we were upgraded us to a junior suite because we had a beautiful large room with a seating area as well.

It was spotlessly clean and the hotel staff could not have been more professional - always friendly and extremely helpful. The reception staff were always willing to help with advice to get to any particular Rome attraction or anything else you may want to ask them. We were close to all Rome public transport, the Metro and the Buses which were very frequent. A cheap and a very efficient way to get to any part of Rome. Bus numbers 40 and 64 take you to the majority of the Rome tourist attractions, and keep to the main roads through the center of Rome. We got the 'Terravision' shuttle bus to and from Ciampino airport which took 30 to 40 minutes. It cost 24 Euros for two of us return (we booked it Online), I would highly recommended as it's a quick, efficient and easy way to travel from Ciampino to Termini Station! (You are picked up right outside Ciampino airport arrivals area and dropped off at Termini and only a 5 minute walk to the hotel).
One hidden little gem of a Rome restaurant is the L'Archetto in Via Germanico, just around the corner from the Trevi fountain. The staff are really friendly and the pasta is fresh and tasty and around 40 pasta dishes to choose from as well as pizzas and various meat dishes. The menu is extensive, I would highly recommend a trio of pastas (or the chef's choice if you ask him). On our last day, we were toured the Colosseum from 9-30am to 12-30am and they happily allowed us to stay until 2pm at no extra charge, which meant we could freshen up before spending a relaxing afternoon in one of the beautiful Roman piazzas sipping wine, eating pasta and taking in all the street performers, artists and people watching! A perfect end to a perfect Rome trip which we managed to pack so much into.

We stayed in Room 424 Jan 2008. Lots of antiques, a terra cotta tiled floor of a spacious room, with 2 nice beds, ample outlets, TV with many channels in several languages, 2 windows (corner room I think) 1 great view 1 ok.
