A major rental car company is spending big bucks to go green. the sisterhood of the traveling pants movie Enterprise Rent-A-Car says it is investing more than 150 million the sisterhood of the traveling pants movie dollars in the next five years to make all of its rental locations environmentally friendly. The company says all newly built and retrofitted buildings will be designed with sustainability in mind. The green efforts will focus on seven areas including energy efficiency, recycling and sustainable materials.  Some of the changes include using low VOC (volatile organic compound) paint, carpeting and adhesives to improve indoor air quality. The Environmental Leader reports Enterprise the sisterhood of the traveling pants movie will also switch to LED lighting for its signage and use high efficiency plumbing fixtures. Some car rental buildings will have green roofs installed and efficient landscaping that requires less water. Last June Enterprise the sisterhood of the traveling pants movie opened a LEED certified car rental location at Chicago s O Hare airport. The building includes a storm water retention, recycling the sisterhood of the traveling pants movie system for waste water from car washes, energy efficient lighting and a green roof. Those features have so far reduced water use by 22 percent and energy use by 15 percent. The company hopes retrofitting the rest of its buildings will save up to 35 percent in water and energy use.
