The winter months mark a very popular time for cruising, especially natural spa hotels in munich germany in the Caribbean and other warm destinations. This period is also known by industry insiders as "wave season," when cruise lines and cruise agents launch aggressive sales to capture advance bookings for the entire year.
While the recent Costa Concordia tragedy in the Mediterranean has placed a newfound emphasis on cruise safety and made first-time cruisers wary, it hasn't affected cruise demand -- and travelers are still scooping up deals.
Some of the best deals we see all year are available right now, from short weekend trips to the Bahamas to longer South Pacific sailings on luxury ships. Offers often include extras such as pre-cruise hotel stays, natural spa hotels in munich germany on-board credits and prepaid gratuities.
1. Look to travel during the weeks following natural spa hotels in munich germany a major holiday. While cabins go quickly and are costly for cruises that include a major holiday, sailings one week later are generally much cheaper natural spa hotels in munich germany and less crowded. This means smaller crowds both on board and during excursions -- and more money in your pocket.
2. Cruise lines often advertise their lowest rates for "guaranteed" cabins. These are assigned on board not at the time of booking, so you can't request a specific cabin. But you are guaranteed to be within the category (inside, ocean view, etc.) booked. Feeling lucky ?
3. Cruising provides the one-stop-shop benefit of bundled pricing. It's essentially accommodations, meals and entertainment in one vacation price. Not to mention it's a great way to visit multiple natural spa hotels in munich germany destinations in one trip.
4. Fares for children are often discounted, especially as the third or fourth natural spa hotels in munich germany passenger in a cabin. Most ships also have extensive kids programs, giving mom and dad a nice break (and possibly a little natural spa hotels in munich germany bit of a vacation).
5. Repositioning cruises -- when a cruise line sails the ship from one region to another -- often come at a significant discount. We've seen 13-night transatlantic cruises on high-end ships available for less than $500 per person. Try living at home for less than $40 a day.
6. In recent years there has been a lot of buzz surrounding mega-ships such as Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas, Norwegian Epic, Carnival Magic, Disney Dream and Celebrity Silhouette. The newest ships are spectacular and popular with travelers -- and often priced at a premium. But many cruise lines have ships that are just a few years older and highly rated by Conde Nast Traveler and others. They offer very similar experiences for a lot less.
9. Plan ahead for popular excursions and book before you go. It will save time once on board and avoid any frustration when a desired itinerary sells out. Most have a 24-hour cancellation policy, so if you change your mind, you can cancel up to 24 hours beforehand.

Call us Scrooges, but we find it hard to be impressed with Wave Season offers. Every January, we get excited about forthcoming cruise deals only to be disappointed by the actual promotions. luxury hotels in las vegas Perhaps that’s because we want to see really cheap prices and amazing upgrades, rather than the same old onboard credit, upgrades within the same category and half-off fares that look remarkably luxury hotels in las vegas like the existing pricing.
But skepticism aside, luxury hotels in las vegas you can get good value from a Wave Season deal – if your interests dovetail with a cruise line promotion luxury hotels in las vegas and you’re willing to be flexible about sail dates or even cruise line. To help you navigate the murky waters of Wave Season promotions, here are a few things to note followed by our winners and losers of this year’s deals.
Don’t expect rock-bottom prices. You may get a few dollars off, but cruise lines don’t slash rates until the last minute on sailings that aren’t selling out. With Wave, you’re looking for a fair price, even a good price, not a ridiculously low rate.
Discounts are included in the fare. In most, if not all, cases, the fare you see online is the one you’ll pay – with all the 50 percent off and two-for-one offers already taken into account. luxury hotels in las vegas You don’t subtract more from that price, and in fact, you’ll likely be adding taxes and fees into it.
Understand the upgrade. When you think upgrade, you imagine paying for an inside cabin and getting assigned a balcony stateroom. When cruise lines say upgrade, they mean you pay for one category of cabin and they give you a stateroom that is in a higher category – on paper. That could mean, you book an inside and get a higher-category inside (which might or might not be “better” in your mind), an obstructed view outside or an actual standard outside. And the price you pay might not be a discount on paying the regular rate for the upgraded cabin.
Read the fine print. In the same vein, always read the promotion’s terms and conditions. Free kids’ fares are nearly always for kids sharing a cabin with two paying adults. Promotions are available only on select sailings and might be capacity controlled. Understanding the offer will lead to less disappointment when you start delving into actual fares.
Best Wave Season Deal: Holland America is offering fares up to 50 percent luxury hotels in las vegas off, free or reduced fares for third and fourth passengers luxury hotels in las vegas in a cabin, and free or reduced hotel stays on select sailings. What we like is there are value-adds for a wide variety of destinations, and the Web site clearly states which promos apply to each itinerary.
Worst Wave Season Deal: Royal Caribbean is the biggest loser with an onboard credit offer that’s only available on select sailings to select destinations. Inside cabin bookings are excluded; book an outside cabin on a Caribbean sailing and you get $50 OBC per cabin. Sure, if you can afford a suite on a Europe cruise, you’ll get 400 smackers to spend at the spa and on specialty dining, but we expect a little more during Wave Season.
Most Confusing Deal: Norwegian ’s sale looks quite appealing: free upgrades, kids’ fares in Europe 50 percent off, e-coupons and cruise-and-air deals to Europe and Hawaii. But while the line touts oceanviews for inside prices, balconies for outside prices and mini-suites for balcony prices, when we looked, many of the inter-category upgrades were on family cabins, and some upgrades were within the same category. Each sailing had only a few upgrade possibilities. Also, the prices for upgrades to a higher category were often more expensive than booking that category directly, just on a different deck. You might be able to snag a deal with Norwegian’s luxury hotels in las vegas multipromo sale, but you could easily be fooled into paying more for a supposed upgrade.
Best Deal for Families and Groups: luxury hotels in las vegas Holland America is offering free or reduced fares for passengers sailing as the third or fourth guests in a cabin. We found these discounts on Alaska cruisetours, Canada/New England, Caribbean, Europe luxury hotels in las vegas and South America sailings.
Most Unusual Deal: We’re intrigued by Celebrity ’s somewhat unusual deal, giving cruisers to Europe their choice of two of three offers: a Classic luxury hotels in las vegas Beverage Package for two (valued at $88 per day), prepaid tips (valued at $30 per day) and onboard credit ($100 $300 per cabin, based on cruise length). Most lines don’t give you a choice of offers.
A Deal That’s Better Than It Sounds: At first glance, Regent Seven Seas Cruises ’ free Internet offer sounds fairly piddling. But when you think about it, Regent already includes airfare, shore excursions, hotel stays, all beverages, tips, specialty dining and ground transfers in its fares. What else could it possibly offer passengers? luxury hotels in las vegas (Oh, and there’s luxury hotels in las vegas a two-for-one cruise fares promo running luxury hotels in las vegas as well.)

The Historic and Design Review Commission meets at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Development Business Services Center (first floor), 1901 S. Alamo St. Aside from the additions of B-cycle kiosks and bike racks, which you can read all about in the previous post, there are two downtown-related items on tomorrow meeting. And the first one is big.
Paradigm Hotel SA Riverwalk is a 131-room Wyndham Garden River North on the northwest bank of the Museum Reach portion of the River Walk. In November, the project was presented america west airlines employee to the HDRC, but it was sent back citing concerns over its “architectural style.”
Paradigm has built 12 hotels citywide, but this is its first in downtown S.A. In 2007, it purchased the land along the Museum Reach portion of the River Walk — also within the River North stretch envisioned for redevelopment — building a hotel.
“We have done other developments, mostly hotels,” Tim Sanford, a principal at Paradigm, said. “I’ve done 12 over my career — most of them limited service. This is the biggest project I’ve ever done.”
Sanford said the Wyndham Garden is a project which exceeds $10 million. If Paradigm clears the HDRC hurdle today, developers begin the construction permitting process, and hope to break ground in March. If so, the goal would be to have the hotel built in 12 months.
The mere mention america west airlines employee of another hotel on the River Walk, especially along the Museum Reach which was constructed as a destination for locals, is sure to draw the ire of many locals who pay attention to these things.
Sanford defended his project citing the number of residential projects already built or underway: 1221 Broadway, the Pearl’s Can Plant Apartments, The Mosaic and 1800 Broadway. america west airlines employee The Wyndham Garden, Sanford says, will provide balance to the Museum Reach.
Sanford says he is planning a three-story, america west airlines employee 22,000-square-foot office building in the vicinity of the Wyndham Garden, and that he is in the very preliminary stages america west airlines employee in a partnership with other developments.
A touch-up for the parking garage on the corner of West Commerce and South Presa streets is in the works. Douglas Architects, Inc. submitted the application to “add new materials and finishes to existing surfaces.” The plan is to replace the lighting, floor tiles and wall base. The property is owned by Hixon Properties, and is slated to house downtown S.A.’s first Whataburger by late February.

i HAVE TRIED AND TRIED TO REACH SOMEONE TO ASK SOME QUESTIONS AND APPEARS TO BE IMPOSSIBLE! I joined the rewards program philadelphia airport car rental way back and don t know how many points I now have etc: My email has changed philadelphia airport car rental since I joined and I can t seem to update that either! I have tried online services to no avail and tring to call is usless! Is there someone at Wyndym rewards I can contact to find out about my account??????????????????
philadelphia airport car rental I get weekly philadelphia airport car rental invites for Wyndham trips, but I would like to know how many rewards I have built over the past 4 years. We want to use them now and would like a speedy response. According to the previous letters, it takes longer for a response than a turtle crossing a interstate. Could you put this on top of your list to do.So we can either book with Wyndham or go directly to Ramada.
I was told my points was taken away because I have not stayed in one of the hotels in a year. I have stayed but did nt know that my card was inactive until today. No one ever notified me to remind me of an agreement that they said was in paper work they sent me in 2004 when I first joined. (IF YOU DON T STAY IN A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME YOU WILL LOSE ALL POINTS AND YOUR CARD WILL BECOME INACTIVE) Why couldn t an email be sent out regaurding this matter..I have lost all points and my card is inactive..This is BULL!!!!
We stay at Super 8 motels when we travel and we belong to Wyndham/rewards and we can t find out how many points we have toward a free room. Nothing I have found on the internet has been able to tell me what
I have stayed at Wyndham philadelphia airport car rental hotels and used the rewards card since 2008. Today I called to inquire about points. I was told you have ZERO. I got nowhere with customer service and asked to speak with supervisor. She gave me a list of reasons philadelphia airport car rental why points were not credited, all of which were of course were no fault of theirs. There is a note on their computer indicating that I called in Aug to insure points were being added. The supervisor stated that does mean “anything”. Basically, I was told to research my records for all years since 2008 to find hotels, locations, and dates if there was going to be any chance of getting points. What’s more is the supervisor stated it is customers’ responsibility to ensure points philadelphia airport car rental are being applied, and she finds it hard to believe that I have not enquired about my points account before now. Sounds like I was just called a liar.
We have gathered lots of points we think but we can not find how or where to find how many we have and the websites don t seem to have a place to find out how many points philadelphia airport car rental we have. I was given a number and the motels take my number but no idea how many we have. Help!
I m truly disappointed in this rewards program. I booked the hotel through the Days Inn website and this was the only available rate through the website. And they did not credit the point because it is a non professional booking rate. Really? The rate available through WYNDHAM HOTEL is a nonqualifying rate? It is frustrating to have chasing the few points here and there after every stay only to find out that it s not qualified philadelphia airport car rental because of the rate happens to be less expensive than it should be. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
We went on a 45 day vacation trying to stay in Wyndham hotels to try and gain points. After the 45 day vacation I checked to see how many points philadelphia airport car rental we had. Surprise philadelphia airport car rental I had no points. I then proceeded to send in requests for the points philadelphia airport car rental to be added through the website. Each stay was individually submitted. It took me 2 hours. I have been told 3 times the points were approved and in 3-5 business days they would be added to my account. Todate I still have no points. I am finished with Wyndham hotels.
Wyndham Rewards is a rip off! They stole my points too. Yes, I said stole. Those were point I earned based on money I already spent. They took them due to inactivity. After speaking with a supervisor, philadelphia airport car rental they said my only other alternative was to leave a voicemail. Voicemail???? What kind of customer service is that? And they expect me to return for 4 more trips to earn all of those points back? They have LOST their minds. Never. My company spent $300K+ on their hotel over the course of 5 weeks and I have to earn them back?! I ALREADY EARNED MY FREE STAY. GIVE ME MY POINTS BACK!!!! I will search every forum out there and post as many comments as possible until I feel better! I m thinking 300K posts will suffice!
Though I did not have that many points, I sure don t remember anyone telling me that they would be taken away due to inactivity. Funny thing is they took them away 2 weeks after I had booked another hotel room so I had activity on my account if the reservation logs my account number why does that not count as activity. I will be looking at other hotel programs who won t rip you off. After hearing comments from above about customer service, I m not hopeful my e-mail will be answered especially when I got an automatic reply saying due to overwhelming contacts it is going to take a long time to get back to me. Yeah, right. I m very disappointed in this company!
i have stayed at hotels for over 4 weeks on various different days, only one of the nights philadelphia airport car rental i stayed was added even though asking staff to enter my membership when checking in, i still had to contact wyndham rewards to have days added, then still they dont show up on my rewards points total, i dont know if they are manually entered and there is a back log or they just cant be assed to enter them onto the system, it is not a good set up
We have tried for 3 days to use our points philadelphia airport car rental to book a free night. It started online and progressed to us calling the 800 number for the rewards program. We were told that our account was under review and we would hear back in 24 hours. It has now been over 48 hours and each time my husband calls he is given a run around. I don t like Wyndham properties very much and now with this I will stay with Best Western and Choice.
I have had great service with wyndam rewards. I didn t like a room I booked I called them they switched hotels got a total refund and I ve stayed 4 nights free. I can check points online and there s a little box says redeem points it tell how many you need. Just sayin
Wow i dont want to sound rude but wow you are all so cranked philadelphia airport car rental up over nothing i do not work for wyndham but travel philadelphia airport car rental a lot their site is very easy to navigate, customer service has always been nothing philadelphia airport car rental but awesome to me, and it does say when you sighn up that points will be cleared from your account if you do not have 1 stay within a 18 month time period.. i have had a lul in my travels and just recently got an email that i have to do something to keep my account active by Dec 31 this year, I have a trip planned for next year but I will either have to take an overnight trip or even just redeem some point for a git card and they will all stay active for another 18 month I have not traveled much so dont have a ton of poi

My husband and I checked out of this hotel and paid cash after the clerk told us our debit card had not been debited yet. I held the room with me card on the phone but at check out paid for the room in cash. The amount was also deducted from my bank account. I have called and complained so many times and was told they couldn t reverse the debit. I now have to try to go through my bank and fill out a dispute charge form. This is crazy. La Quinta Inn is ripping people off. They need to be stopped.
La Quinta Inn - Substandard accommodations La Quinta Inn - Nasty Place La Quinta Inn - Bad room and customer service La Quinta Inn - Terrible Room La Quinta Inn - Overcharged La Quinta Inn - Horrible boston red sox tickets season Hotel Stay La Quinta Inn - Bad experience
I work at a hotel and think you may not fully understand how this works. When you check into a hotel and give your credit card (sometimes when you reserve) to hold your room for the night, it is always pre-authorized. The credit or debit card has a hold placed on it for the amount of your stay plus 5 to 10% in case you have other charges. This assures the hotel that the room will be paid for in case you choose in the morning to continue boston red sox tickets season on with your trip or leave the charge on your card. If this was not done, many guests would leave the next morning without stopping by or come down to sign their card and it would be no good (over limit, declined, etc) and payment may not be received. If you choose to pay cash at check out, the card will not be charged and the cash will be processed. I have worked for 4 chains over 25 years and there is not a way to double post a payment. However, the hold on your account will remain for 3-14 business days, depending on your banks hold time for preauthorizations. Many guests, because of the way it appears if you check your account by computer, think they have been charged when it is a preauthorizaition. If you are using a debot card, there is a chance if you have a small amount in your account these holds could cause you to overdraft. This is a chance you take based on using debit cards instead of credit cards. Do not way an entire chain for one hotel issue. boston red sox tickets season You may need to contact the GM of this hotel or if that fails, call the toll free number guest assistance for a resolution.
I checked in this hotel late on 11:00 PM the usual check-in time is 3:00PM.When I checked in I have told the front desk that I will be checking out late which they made a note.I was told specifically that they charge for a night. Now when I see my credit card bills it seems they have charged for 2 nights. Now they are giving excuses that the late check-out cannot be so late (10:00 PM) at night. My question is they could have informed me earlier that I need to pay for an additional night.Infact I could have stayed an additional boston red sox tickets season night. This is a trick to eat money as they have the credit card number to do anything.Never ever stay here.Be very cautious to stay in these type of hotels. Its better to give a penny to a beggar rather that to the money making attitude these hotels have

It took over a week to get it resolved and tied up my vacation money. The manager, named Chris, won't return phone calls and promised to refund me around $135 in overdraft charges but won't follow through. I can't recommend this particular La Quinta.
Every la Quinta I stay at has been very ethical and fair. They always have a late check out option at 12 noon. Most will allow 1 or even 2 o'clock check out if they have rooms to spare that evening. Keep in mind they have staff there to clean rooms. A 10 o'clock at night late check out is unheard of at any hotel chain. Some people try to find a way to take advantage of businesses, I personally thing la Quinta inn and suites boston red sox tickets season is one of the best hotels out there! The friendly staff during boston red sox tickets season my travels are second to none! Anyone reading this should make your own judgement.
Sorry, JSC, but 10 p.m. is NOT a "late check out". Lots of guess simply assume that because boston red sox tickets season they checked in "so and so many hours after "official check in time", that they are somehow due those hours in some sort of make-believe "even out" situation. A "late" check out by hotels is considered and hour or two after official check out. At La Quintas, official check out time is noon, so a "late" check out would have been 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. at latest. NOT 10 p.m., when the room was dirty and could not be rented, and there is no one to clean that room until the next day. You cost that hotel a night's revenue after you left because you might not have been there, but you did indeed stay there 2 nights.

The company on Monday launched golden tours london LQ-Instant Hold, a feature on its mobile site that caters to its large base of last-minute guests traveling by car. It allows those travelers to book a hotel room for up to four hours or until midnight depending on the time using only a phone number.
Once the customer arrives at the property, they can check-in golden tours london quickly with the phone number they provided during booking. If the customer does not arrive within four hours, La Quinta sends a SMS text alerting golden tours london the guest the room will soon expire, giving them the option to confirm with a credit card.
Executives decided to revise their mobile strategy after seeing a significant increase in mobile traffic last summer. We had a mobile golden tours london site, and it was OK. It wasn t great, said Julie Cary, executive VP and chief marketing officer for La Quinta.
Still, La Quinta s Instant Hold feature might possibly become a brand differentiator, Lawson golden tours london said. If consumers like it, they will distinguish it as a feature they can continue using. It could help in reducing the switching potential of disloyal consumers, he said.
Holding inventory for a customer and not requiring a payment presents the potential for the brand to lose its investment, he said. If a large number of last-minute guests arrive at the property, but those rooms are being held for a guest that may or may not show up, the company golden tours london will lose money.
While Cox has not yet had any of her guests use the feature, she said she and her staff are heavily promoting the platform golden tours london at the property. There are LQ-Instant Hold signs at the front desk and throughout the hotel.
We have regular guests that come, and they don t always know when they re coming, Cox said. She has been advising those return guests to use the new mobile feature, which will give them the reassurance of knowing they will have a confirmed golden tours london room when they arrive.
They ll go back, look at their demand, look at their booking patterns, determine how many and what type of rooms they want to allocate to Instant Hold, set that up and then we re ready to go, Cary said.

E a segurança me pareceu mediterranean cruises muito boa! O check-in é realizado as 15h e o check-out ás 12h.

I had to have bunting. I'd seen photos of European and Australian "caravans" hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina with bunting and wondered why precious few American trailers ever use it as a glamping accessory. So, I found some fabric and bias tape, studied tutorials online, and put together a strand just in time to outfit The Glampette for the IRG (International Redwoods Gathering) at the Pamplin Grove campground in Carlotta, CA (just south of Eureka) back in the first week of July.
I mentioned in a previous post that my friend Fred flew out to WA to help me drive back to MI but on the way we stopped for two nights at the IRG. It was a 14 hour detour and a very fun stop. Fred has been a member of the tnttt.com forum for nine years but hadn't ever met in person a lot of the people he'd befriended during that time.
While we we took turns driving during the day the funny part was we had to be able to fit into the trailer together at night. The trailer with an interior length of 5'10" long, was never designed to hold two people, least of all her builder who is 5'9" tall. But, where there's a will there's a way. I tested sleeping on my 17" wide countertop as a top bunk using a 20" wide self-inflating camping mattress while planning to let Fred use my 30" wide "guest" bed below.
When I told him I'd made the garland of bunting in pink, aqua, and yellow Fred only had one thing to say: "I better bring a tent." He did bring his own sleeping bag and his tent as a back up in case things didn't work out.
He was kind of long for the trailer but, as you can see, things worked out just fine! I never even almost rolled off the counter. hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina LOL. We discovered if he slept diagonally he did fit inside with the door closed. He's kind of camera shy so this was the best picture I could get of us in trailer at the same time to prove it could be done. I did have to sleep with my head near the door because there wasn't enough clearance for it to fit under the lower front shelves.
The campground has three basic areas: The meadow, in the redwood grove in the upper section, and in the grove in a lower section which is where we parked The Glampette. The woody in the foreground of the lower picture hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina is my friend's Debbie and Randy's homebuilt trailer "Monstro" that I got to park next to at the Treasure Island Meet Greet last fall.
The event was hosted by "The Fog Crawler" and "The Teardrop Nanny." Those are the forum names for Dean and Joanie. They host their own Youtube channel " Outdoor Cast Iron Cooking " where you can learn to make things like Humboldt Dungeness Crab , their Legendary hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina Bigfoot Burger , Waffle Dogs , and their version of Mountain Man Breakfast all made in Dutch Ovens while out camping.
And then there were the trailers. The one I was most looking forward to seeing was "Miss Piggy" designed and built by forum member Brian Woods (aka "Vedette") from British Columbia. hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina You can read all about how Brian created Miss Piggy in this back issue of Cool Tears magazine beginning on page 14. When I saw the pictures hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina of her I was hooked but when I read in the article all of the parts she's comprised of I was fascinated by Brian's build:
Equally mesmerizing was Doug Hodder's American Voyager. I'd have to say Doug is one of the top builders in the country after seeing the impeccable craftsmanship he uses in building and finishing his trailers. The AV was simply stunning! My favorite thing I saw at the entire rally were the tiny, striped, metal, snap-on awnings over each window of the trailer.
And for pure novelty nobody could beat Roly Nelson's hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina F-117 Stealth Fighter Teardrop Camper. When I saw it all I could wonder was how many accidents did he almost cause driving it up to the gathering because I'm sure everyone who saw him on the highway not only did a double take but tried to get a picture hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina of his creative camper while they were driving.
For starters no sooner did we arrive it was time to head up for the group picture. hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina Best efforts were made with a McGyver'ed camera attached to helium balloons, a cord, and a fishing pole to get an arial group shot. Unfortunately the camera hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina wasn't facing the right direction so I grabbed this shot from a video Pinecone (aka Greg Pang) put together. Dean did get a great arial shot from high in the redwoods included at the beginning of his video coming up later in the post.
Before dinner there was a raffle to enter. Each day attendees receive a strand of raffle tickets. You walk up and down the lines of prizes and drop them in the bags of the ones you want to win. I put almost all of my tickets into the bag for this vintage Coleman picnic stove. Fred knew I wanted it so he put some of his tickets in too. LOL I think we put in 94% of the tickets in that particular bag so it wasn't a huge surprise I won it!
Now, the only problem is I found out the liquid propane fuel tanks it needs are obsolete so unless I can find a conversion hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina kit to a current fuel source I'll have to think of a way to use it for something else.
Saturday night was a potluck dinner. I think at every tiny trailer rally Saturday night is always the potluck dinner. hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina Fred and I were so busy socializing we barely had time to put together our fruit salad (pictured in the upper right corner) and make it up there in time for dinner. The cast iron cooks were busy that day. There were Dutch ovens lined along the tables full of steaming hot, oven baked goodness. I really want to find a vintage oven or two and start learning how to cook with them in Fred's backyard fire pit.
After making hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina a good (but not very pretty) breakfast the first day I realized the proper order is to make your eggs first, then the potatoes, then the bacon. I kept the eggs and potatoes warm by putting them on a plate and flipping another plate over them as a lid then put them back in the fry pan after spooning out as much of the bacon grease as I could.
I was kind of tickled to see my Acura Integra wasn't the only passenger car acting as a tow vehicle. While most folks use large pick ups and SUV's there were a few others who have found they are able to tow with less traditional vehicles.
Here are a few I did shoot. The trailer in the top left corner with the yellow fenders and round door is one that inspired me greatly to pursue getting a trailer of my own. Way back when Vacations In a Can was featured in Sunset magazine. Based near Petaluma, CA they put the whole concept of teardropping within reach for me. I'd planned to rent a trailer to test out if I wanted one but soon found that unnecessary hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina as I'd successfully talked myself into wanting one without ever having stayed in one before. LOL
Beneath it was the trailer of Grant Whipp, another member/builder I was looking forward to meeting in person. Grant owns Li'l Bear Tag Alongs a business that sells teardrop trailer parts , plans , and custom built trailers . His website also lists upcoming gatherings and offers a nationwide classified ads section for those who want to buy local rather than build a trailer to come out to CA to pick up one of Grant's trailers.
And this is Greg Pang known as "Pinecone" on the forum. He was someone I'd become hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina friends with online and got to meet in person. Like me, he's a huge advocate of the teardrop lifestyle when traveling. He also made this great recap video that shows what the rally was like including the days I missed. . . Take a peek:
Another member I knew from the forum who I got to meet in person was Ted (aka "Gudmund") who had dropped into a thread I started about the DIY rain shield I made for my roof vent last winter. He recommended a Maxair II plastic hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina vent cover that fits over the vent that shields the open vent from rain coming into the cabin and allows you to leave the vent cover open while in transit. He uses one on his teardrop "Wanderin' Aimlessly" and loves it. While I did like the idea I just couldn't imagine it looking cute or unobtrusive enough to be on The Glampette.
So he found me and brought his over and let me set it down on top of my trailer so I could see for myself what it would look like. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. From the side it kind of looked like a shark fin. LOL. And the plastic hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina was translucent, not opaque, which made it more attractive than I thought it would be. I will say I'm more open to the thought now than I was before but still not ready to make the leap just yet :)
I also spotted a few canned ham trailers. The one on top is called a Grasshopper and looks like a teeny tiny Winnebago. The lower blue and white Sero Scotty is a classic canned ham (look a the shape).
The Glampette hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina was much more styling by the end of the rally than at the beginning. hampton inn mt pleasant south carolina Debbie brought over some fresh roses when she left Sunday morning so I set them on The Glampette's tongue box beside a bottle of wine Fred won for me at the raffle on Saturday night. He reads my blog so he knows I love my wine.
A big thank you to Fred for coming out to help me drive back to MI and for being such a good sport and sleeping in a trailer that was just a few inches too short and even worse, glamped out in girly colors and bunting :P
And a huge thank you to Dean and Joanie for hosting such a great event. We couldn't have felt more welcome. It was a lot of fun and I hope to make it back to the redwoods and the IRG in years to come, hopefully so I can be there from start to finish one year and see all of the trailers, not just the ones closest to where I parked.

Also, that 18 foot box? Extremely small space for three people. That means bonding. Lots and lots of

Bella was sitting in someone s backyard in Riverside, California. When we walked up to her, I instantly fell in love. Though she was covered in dirt and missing a car battery, she was the perfect travel trailer for us.
Fast forward four months later, she s sitting in front of the office of a trailer park on the treasure coast of Florida. She s suffered two blown tires, a leaking roof, several thunderstorms, and some dents in bumps. I still love her though.
Since we lived in a spacious three bedroom house with an R3 lot in California, living in a nondescript 18 ft. box was really challenging. You can see everything the moment you walk in. Our whole lives on display for anyone who cared to go up the rickety metal step to our home. To the right, the blue foam dinette that looks like an old 70s diner booth by day, and queen bed by night. The kitchen ez rent a car coupon codes that was covered with newspapers and tiny 4-cup coffee maker we snatched from a state park in Virginia. ez rent a car coupon codes The miniature bathroom that could barely fit my skinny dad. Last but not least, the two bunk beds that were meant for kids but was now my cave, *ahem*, I mean bed.
The reality of living in a trailer ez rent a car coupon codes is odd. I was forced to pare down my wardrobe from my shopaholic days in college. That meant picking eight outfits for an undetermined amount of time. A couple scarves, one bag, three pairs of shoes, and one makeup bag. I had to decide to wear my hair natural for the whole trip, something I hadn t done since high school. And though I brought my hair straightener, I can count on my hand the times I ve used it.
Being forced to downsize your clothes and products is incredibly helpful to show that your stuff is just stuff. There have been times when I looked at our shared two by three foot closet and wished I had more. More clothes, ez rent a car coupon codes more space, more everything. The experience that we ve been having though, ez rent a car coupon codes has made everything worth it.
We live and breath travel, everyday. We wake up in a new location, new parking lot, new RV park, new city. Our small size has made it possible to leave the trailer in a parking space and explore the city like we re staying in a hotel nearby.
Yes, sometimes it gets to you. I  call it gypsy fatigue. Sometimes you want to wake up in a King size bed with a big-screen TV in front of you. Sometimes I want to cook in an  actual  kitchen, not a play-sized one with a microwave the size of my hand. Waking up in Walmart parking lots and rest stops on your way to the next big thing can be exhausting. I ve only been at this roadtrippin thing for a few months, but I can already see it wearing me down. It s the price you pay for living ez rent a car coupon codes the life you think you want. Most days, it s worth it.
Also, that 18 foot box? Extremely small space for three people. That means bonding. Lots and lots of bonding. You want to get closer to your parents? Roadtrip with them. Skip the therapist, and the counselors. Just roadtrip.
Ultimately though, I feel really free. We can go  anywhere we want. We can stay wherever the roads lead us. That s the whole point of having a house on wheels, to have the liberty to go anywhere. We ve taken full advantage. What does it feel like? Freedom.
Who Am I? I'm Gretel, a recent college grad who loves travel, ez rent a car coupon codes people, and storytelling. I'm a Californian at heart, but a traveler by nature. I studied Anthropology and Latino Studies at beautiful Cornell, have worked for several newspapers and interned ez rent a car coupon codes for the Smithsonian in DC. I write about growing, traveling, and learning, with happiness as the ultimate goal.

I DO agree with the poster who noted the lack of design in the new bazillion dollar RV s we have bee

There is quite a community of vintage trailer folks, and next week I m off to the big Pismo Beach Vintage Trailer Rally, where 300 of us will open up our trailers to visitors and fellow enthusiasts for the weekend.
Alex is the founding editor of TinyHouseTalk.com and the always free Tiny House Newsletter . He has a passion for exploring and sharing tiny homes (from yurts and RVs to cabins and cottages) and inspiring simple living stories. Send in your story and tiny home photos w hotels so we can share and inspire w hotels others towards simplicity too. Thank you!
I just love these older travel trailers, I have a 1986 22 1/2 ft Sunline travel trailer. that I bought brand new right off the showroom floor almost 30 years ago. . It has a front door and a back door. and a picture window on the curb side. Looks like a little 1950 s trailer house. very nice and cozy.. With lots of storage..Everything w hotels thing is all original from the window treatments to the bedspread and pillow shames. I ve kept that trailer in mint shape in all these years. (It s now considered vintage) and now worthy of vintage trailer rallies . Unfortunately there seems to be a biased and prejudice against most trailers over 10 years old now. When it comes to being allowed entrance to many campgrounds.. .. Have you seem some of the overpriced crap the RV industry is putting out there now? Cutting back on production and charging more for your money.. Most Travel trailers now only come with 2 burner cook tops (instead of complete 4 burner with ovens below) Also there seems to be less and less closet space as well having windows on all 4 sides of the rv . You pay more now and get less, Than what these older ones have to offer..And w hotels that is too bad..Wonder if campground owners and RV industry are in cahoots with one another..
Normally w hotels I have no interest in nearly all RVs and trailers, But i do have exceptions w hotels like the converted school buses that have been made into homes, the gypsy caravans and the Airstreams. I really like this trailer. What makes this trailer is the cheerful yellow color scheme. That big yellow/white awning is totally welcoming. Love the funky but chic interior prints. w hotels And the wood interior looks like a beautiful quality veneer and not cheap plywood or fiberglass.
I have an old Dodge Vogue RV that is in deperate need of help. It was emergency living quarters a few years back. Now I would like to get it fixed up. It has been to the shop for mechanical repairs and runs just fine. The interior is in disrepair. There have been some leaks. I would like to get the roof sealed and the interior economically re-done. Anyone w hotels know an individual willing to take on the challenge in eastern GA?
Yes, Kenny helped me to do most of the work on my 1985 pace arrow, It is very nice and I am proud to have redone and then sold it because I have no need for it now. However,he is excellent with tight seems and can do almost anything. It looks great when he finishes any job. (Hope to hear from you soon. Don Dollar.) You may also contact him at 229-726-7082.
I am in LOVE!!!!!! Every time I see one of these I remember the cozy full size trailer my Great Great Grandmother AND Great Grandmother lived in for years my Uncle ran a string of early trailer parks back when. They were in a nice park with a pond and play ground and trees not like the ones I see today which could be easily mistaken w hotels for a bunch of old tractor trailer boxes. In a parking w hotels lot!
Maybe because I was with people who loved me these places seemed very homey and welcoming and because these two ladies were NOT Spring Chickens back then in the early 60 s the small size but complete kitchen was easy for them to work in they baked EVERY DAY.
I DO agree with the poster who noted the lack of design in the new bazillion dollar RV s we have been looking for a couple of years at these and they get worse and worse. One of the BIG things you are meant to LOVE about these is that you don t have to rely on finding w hotels food in your travels or that you can make better food choices. However! The kitchens are either so poorly laid out or so lacking in yes amenities like REAL STOVES! that cooking is a chore! There can be 1 SQUARE FOOT of counter space and that is promoted as a FULL SIZE KITCHEN COUNTER! No! But you can have a FIREPLACE!!! but no place to put your clothing. w hotels You can sleep a PLATOON but why would you WANT to??? And those dining rooms No! No stoopid benches And no stooopid STEPS! The people these are marketed to the ones who can actually AFFORD w hotels them-are NOT teenagers; we ARE upper middle aged and have the various illness and ailments that all people our age are heir to., But the RV designers have FAILED utterly to accomadate people getting IN and OUT of the very RV s they are trying to SELL us! Marketing possibility for some clever designer here!
The bathrooms unless you have a super model are so small and absurd and some of the Bathtubs are SO SMALL you can only get your FEET into them you CANNOT ACTUALLY SHOWER! And I AM talking $250,000 rigs here! BUT you have THREE BATHROOMS!!!! None of which are really functional. And a thousand mirrors can you imagine if they break? w hotels And soooooo much wasted SPACE I know people who have been carving out space in their RV s where the RV maker chose to ignore or cover it up -but they are promoting LIVING in these. They put so much stock in matchy-matchy drapes and valances which cover HALF THE WINDOW and matching bedspreads and couches and carpets maybe it s just ME but they have not moved beyond MAUVE in the past 30 YEARS here!
I have seen the various parks tell people==-OH too bad so sad if the AGE of your RV is over whatever arbitrary number THEY choose you are not ALLOWED to stay there! Some have a policy that IF you feel you are up to their standards you can APPEAL this so you can hang out with the other billionaire RV snobs. No thanks!
I also have been looking into the fees at various RV parks here in the Lake George region it can be as much as $75 PER NIGHT now that is a RV RESORT but still. For less than $75 a night I can find a perfectly FINE hotel room with a real shower and probably nice owners and interesting guests and not have to feel I am being judged by my bank balance. I also looked at areas where we have stayed w hotels farther South and noticed the same thing for what the RV places are charging you can find cheaper hotels. Helps that we are not hotel snobs but still. And I am SURE that for those $300,000 RV s with the Mercedes SUV s I saw pulling into that RV RESORT that $75 per night IS a cheap place to stay.
For us who have been seriously thinking about re-habbing an older RV for long term travel it is almost cheaper TO stay in hotels. Figure in the cost of the rig; the re-hab (which we would do ourselves) the cost of anything we had to sub out; the cost to register, insure, travel clubs, any repairs while under way, the cost of TIRES is staggering by itself and add in for US that we are doing this to take our large motorcycle and travel using THAT for part of the time so we would need a trailer and tools and it is exhausting just to THINK about! AND THE GAS!!!!! OMG the GAS costs!!!!
So we are thinking buy a decent w hotels sized enclosed trailer. make a portable kitchen ie grill with side burner and 5 gal pail of water and perhaps a toaster oven or small convection one of those fireless cookers made like a heavy duty Thermos that cooks the food after you bring it to a boil and a blow up bed JUST IN CASE put the bike in there; put the small tow-behind-the-bike trailer we built in there; tools, my handicapped scooter and our clothes in the tow vehicle and GO. Could easily make a meal in the AM; stash it in our saddle bags; both of us can pack for a weekend trip in a Zip loc bag and GO! We easily travel a few hundred miles a day and we love Mom n Pop motels. Longer ride planned? Hook up the trailer behind the bike! Best project we ever did was to build that lil trailer.
The comment about RV parks putting the squeeze on people with older RVs why I want to go the stealth w hotels tiny house route, like the subject of this article. I need a different w hotels kind of roof on this travel trailer, and I want to do something about the interior layout to make better use of my space, as it is my home since this past March.
What a fabulous restoration on this trailer! The woodwork is beautiful and its artistically designed and compact yet comfy. I also appreciate the elimination of ladders/lofts in the design, which is a huge plus. Thanks for sharing. Happy trails to you!
I love recycling these old RV s. My husband and I restored/remodeled a 72 Frolic camper that I ve named the Pink Paradise. And it is my paradise. Check it out on my blog if you get a minute. Love all these cool tiny living options!
The comment I read was I know you are not really about trailers which made me scratch my head as I wonder why most of your tiny homes are just that trailers! homes built on wheels! These expensive, heavy, non aerodynamic homes either regularly move around or plan on moving around at some point.
