Despite recent headlines on drug-gang warfare in and around Medellin, Dallas, TX-based La Quinta Inns Suites is partnering with Grupo TAO to develop its first multi-million-dollar hotel in Colombia. Trivedi calls the site of the new hotel "an exciting market in a dynamic region in South America." Based in Medellin, Grupo TAO is an experienced and respected development company with decades of experience in the hospitality and real estate industries. In 2007, Grupo TAO introduced the Holiday Inn Express brand to Colombia with a property in Medellin.
