For the fifth consecutive year, exciting bicycle racing returns to downtown Evanston on Sunday, July 17, 2011. The Evanston Grand Prix Presented by Turin Bicycle will host a full day of racing with amateur men and women's categories starting at 9:00 am CT and culminating with the pro women's race at 4:00 pm and the pro men at 5:30 pm. The prime spot for spectators is Evanston's Fountain Square (at Sherman Ave. and Davis St.).
"I'm pleased to bring top-notch bike racing to Evanston again this summer," said race director Chris Mailing. "We've got several new activities and sponsors career cruising password which will make this year's event better than ever, and we're expecting 15 to 20,000 spectators who will thrill to watch professional men and women cyclists from 40 states career cruising password and 20 countries navigate our downtown career cruising password course that has been described as 'tight, technical and exciting'."
