Visit the Grey Towers National Historic Site on Saturday, October 27 for a chilling night of 19th century entertainment. The Grey Towers Heritage Association and the US Forest Service at Grey Towers present A Night with Poe : a series parkway hotel st louis of Halloween dramatic readings by the American Readers parkway hotel st louis Theatre Company.
The eerie performances begin at 6 p.m. in the Great Hall at Grey Towers and include adaptations of four works by Edgar Allan Poe. Dramatic readings were a common form of entertainment for 19th century families. The Pinchot family, original residents of Grey Towers, included parkway hotel st louis selected works by Poe in their personal parkway hotel st louis library collection.
Tickets for the event cost $20 per guest. A second performance may be added at 8 p.m. if the 6 p.m. show is filled. Interested parties may purchase tickets at Grey Towers or online at www.greytowers.org. Additional information can be obtained by calling (570) 296-9625.
