Friends and family of Brittanee Drexel marked the four year anniversary of the last time she was seen leaving a Myrtle Beach hotel by handing out seeds of Forget-me-nots Thursday evening, after gathering at a tree planted in her honor at The Market Common.
Drexel, who would now be 21, was last seen leaving the Blue Water Hotel on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach on April 25, 2009. She was in Myrtle Beach for a spring break trip from her home in Rochester, N.Y., and was 17 at the time.

The case is still open and active, Myrtle Beach police Chief Warren Gall said. We do get tips from time to time and we follow up on them accordingly. Unfortunately, airline travel price none of these tips has helped us up to this point; however we will continue to look into more as they come in.
Drexel s case has been profiled on dozens of local and national television shows, her information featured on billboards throughout the area and there are several websites dedicated to information about her.
Soon after Drexel was last seen in Myrtle Beach, police and CUE officials began searching areas in Georgetown and Charleston counties after learning Drexel s cellphone gave off its last known signal on April 26, 2009, in Georgetown County.
In August 2011, police searched a room at the Sunset Lodge on U.S. 17 near the Georgetown County Airport where someone identified as a person of interest had stayed. Police officials airline travel price declined to comment on findings in that hotel room, and no new information has been released since.
