One of the best experiences you can have down here in N awlins. Professional staff from the hotel pick up to the guide on the airboat. Witness live feedings along with holding novotel paris tour eiffel a baby gator. Tour guide was very informative. Must do!!
SO much fun!!!!!! I highly novotel paris tour eiffel recommend the small airboat! novotel paris tour eiffel For $15 more dollars to get a much up close and personal experience. I have been on other swamp tours but this was hands down the best tour! Even the ride in with Big Joe was great!! I believe my tour guide was Ralph? Whoever he was, he was great and really interacted well with my group!!
This attraction novotel paris tour eiffel is wonderful if you re looking for a break from Bourbon Street.  The tour is 2 hours and you get to see LOTS of alligators ranging in size the guide feeds them marshmallows so you really get a good look at them.  The airboat ride is also the main highlight speeding across the water, seeing beautiful scenery and spanish moss everywhere!  Plus we all held a baby alligator! Wonderful tour and a funny guide too.
Awesome and relaxing time. Our guide, Chip was knowledgable and grew up close by. He told us about the history of the area, lifestyle of the locals, and it was one of our favorite parts of our trip to New Orleans.
Our trip with Airboat Adventures was the highlight of our trip to New Orleans. We were picked up promptly at our hotel. The next group the shuttle went to pick up wasn t where they were supposed to be, and so we spent some time trying to locate them. That made us about 30 minutes late to the launch site, but we were assured that our trip wouldn t be cut short, and they were right.
Our group of five guys were given our own small boat. If it s at all possible to get on a small boat (instead of, it should be obvious, a large boat), I highly recommend it you can explore novotel paris tour eiffel some smaller spaces. As soon as we met our guide, Steve, we knew he was going to be the best. Born and raised in the area, Steve knew what to look for, pointed out tons of alligators and other animals novotel paris tour eiffel we would have missed, told us about everything we were seeing, and had some awesome stories. He was also a heck of a driver. If you ve never been on a fanboat, they are LOUD! (And fast, and awesome.)
We definitely got lucky with the weather the weather had been bad for the several weeks before we arrived, and our trip was on the first warm sunny day in a while. As a result, all of the alligators were out sunning themselves on logs. The last time I had been on a fanboat tour (in the 90s), we saw three or four alligators, and I thought that was awesome. On this trip, we saw at least 40-50 big ones too. At one point, Steve even got about ten of them to swim up to our boat, which was actually a little bit terrifying. Like other reviewers have pointed out, how much wildlife you see is very contingent on the weather, but that shouldn t be surprising.
The trip was two hours long (about 4pm-6pm), and cost $105 per person. When we scheduled it, we thought that seemed pretty pricey for the length, but honestly, we all would have paid double for that trip. Like I said, it was the highlight of our visit to New Orleans.
We were picked up from Decatur street and dropped off at the site. When we got there, the ride had to be canceled due to heavy winds, so we rescheduled for the next day. Our bus driver dropped us back to Decatur, but first took us on a free city tour on the bus, which was really awesome and kind of him.
The day after, we were picked up again and this time the wind had subsided novotel paris tour eiffel and off we went. Our guide was really funny and super knowledgeable about the swamp. He even brought out a baby alligator for us to hold. Even though we went during winter we managed to see a couple novotel paris tour eiffel of gators, which was great. We went in a 6-person airboat which went really fast and allowed for a more personal tour, so I recommend forking over the extra money for that if you can.
Our guide was Captain Richie (not sure if that s spelled novotel paris tour eiffel correctly) and he was awesome.  We weren t sure if we were going to see a lot of gators cruising around since it was November and getting colder, but Richie knew where to take us in the bayou to see some really big ones.  We even got up close to ones sunning on land!  I loved holding the baby gator and hearing about the wildlife.  Very cool!
This trip was worth the money! Our bus driver even arrived on time! Our guide for the tour was Tic-toc. He was entertaining and knowledgeable in both the area and it s history, and alligators in general in fact, he is born and raised in this bayou. This particular swamp was handed down in a family, and used to be an old log mill, now turned into alligator and tree conservation/preservation area. Not only were the gators baited with marshmallows, Tic-toc lured them out of the water with some chicken necks for an up-close experience. The highlight of my trip was actually getting to hold a baby alligator something I probably won t have the chance to do again! The day we went it was pouring rain, but for a small fee, you can purchase a rain hoodie. I would recommend this to anyone novotel paris tour eiffel visiting novotel paris tour eiffel NOLA.
We booked this activity as a package deal with a plantation tour using a tour company. novotel paris tour eiffel We were adamant about taking an airboat ride instead of a pontoon boat as some of the other swamp tours do those. We had a great time at Airboat Adventures. Our tour company provided transportation so we did not use theirs. We were divided into groups, 4-5 boats went out. Ours had 6 people on it with Richie Rich being our tour guide. He was absolutely charming and very entertaining making sure we saw as many gators as possible. It was interesting learning about the swamp environment from someone who grew up there and really had a love for the land. We even had an opportunity to hold a baby gator (named Dollar There was a nice balance of cruising through the bayou and flying across the water which was exactly what we were looking for. We were there one week after Isaac and the effects could still be seen. What is so impressive is the resiliance of the people living there. Even in the recent aftermath of a hurricane the staff of Airboat Adventures made sure we had a wonderful experience.
My wife and I decided to take a break from our New Orleans adventure and see what an airboat ride through the swamp was like and we were glad we did. After considering the many options, we elected to use Airboat Adventures (we had a coupon that we got from a sales brochure that made the small airboat novotel paris tour eiffel ride about the same price as a large airboat ride). They picked us up from our hotel and we proceeded to drive all over the french quarter picking up others. The driver was quite knowledgeable about the area making it fun. The drive to Lafitte novotel paris tour eiffel was about an hour. We lucked out and got Captain Monkey (we had already read a couple of great reviews about him). He had been around swamp and gators all his life and you could tell by his ease and familiarity with the scene. The boat on the open water flew across the surface like it was on butter with thrilling speeds. In the swamp or canals the alligators were all over the place. some would come right up to the boat while others would just stare malevolently. We saw other creatures too and got to hold a young alligator. Take snacks and drinks novotel paris tour eiffel if you want to. Sunblock and mosquito spray would also be helpful.
