Rental car companies are usually willing to overlook small dings and glass chips, But not Vancouver

Rental car companies are usually willing to overlook small dings and glass chips, But not Vancouver airport's Budget Rent A Car office, say a group of consumers. They claim that Budget location is notorious for flagging returned cars for the most minor of offenses. Worse, they allege that some damage may have been caused by previous customers, and much of it is usually considered normal wear and tear. Alarmingly, a number of complaints apartment rentals paris long term allege that damage charges were added after vehicles had been returned and inspected.
The Better apartment rentals paris long term Business Bureau has logged at least 70 complaints about British Columbia Budget locations, including claims that customers were forced to pay as much as $966 for total windshield apartment rentals paris long term replacements after tiny chips were found, and $446 for repair of a "dimple" in a car's roof. Most customers were informed of the damage well after leaving the rental office, and sometimes after the damage had already been repaired. The business gets an "F" from the BBB.
They found that Budget Rent A Car of B.C. Ltd. is owned by Syd Belzberg, a "wealthy businessman" who also owns Inland Transportation. apartment rentals paris long term Which, coincidentally, is contracted to do all repair work for Belzberg's BC Budget locations. Even more concerning is that Allan Fung, the "independent" appraiser used by Budget in at least some of the claims is actually an employee of Budget.
Consumers worried about getting caught in such situations would be wise to sign up for insurance offered by the rental agency. That will at least limit their liability to the deductible, but, as Go Public apartment rentals paris long term points out, the rental agency is usually the issuer of the insurance. When, as in the Vancouver area, one man controls apartment rentals paris long term the rental agency, the insurer and the repair shop, business interests start to seem "Too close for comfort," as Montreal businessman Marc Vaugeois says.
So far, no lawsuits have been filed, and the Consumer's Association of Canada advises customers to closely inspect their rental cars before returning them and, for extra protection, videotape a walkaround of the car for evidence. Mels car and truck rental in Kelowna does rentals right. You pay the entire rental up front in cash with no credit card deposit. All cars are rented on a daily weekly or monthly rate with no mileage or extra insurance fees. No security deposits either,if you damage their cars they trust you to do the the right thing and I would think most of their customers would. For the ones that don't they use a court of law to collect and let a judge decide who is responsible for the repairs. They do business the old school way and keep their customers apartment rentals paris long term coming back time after time. I rent pickup apartment rentals paris long term trucks from them often and usually end up paying half of what the big guys charge.
It's not just Budget-Rent-a-Car, it's Every Car Rental Fleet that stil struggles to exist in these trying times. What used to be about Customer Service, Support, Rentention Perks / Benefits received from such, is ALL about exploitation of a Loop-hole. As is ALMOST EVERY LEGAL / CRIMINAL claim filed. It's about $$$$$$$
hello, i have the same case with Avis in St. Maarten in the Carribean on Oct 4 to 11. I purchase daily car insurance for $25 per day for 7 days and upon returning the car, the Indian lady was charging me for some scratches by the Lt rear tire fender in which should have been there because the car is already old but I did not check when i did pick up the car since i bought the insurance with them. Se wants me to pay $500 but fought and refuse to pay and when i took pictures of the car from my iphone and suddenly she let me go without charging me anymore. Be careful with car rental companies and make sure check for dents, chips, scratches... etc.
They are also robbing people blind with their false advertising about prices . The taxes, no fault of their own, are immense, and they are trying to hide that cost until the customer arrives at their desk, out of town and all needy! They try to tell you that you can go to the rental down the street, but they will charge you more for the car even tho' the tax is less... People need to wake up and start legitimately complaining about bad buisnesses like these, instead of second guessing themselves and undoubtedly getting ripped off. However, the young 20 and 30 year old zombie nation is now emerging apartment rentals paris long term and they don't even know what is hitting them in the face! This nation needs to get a back bone!!!!!!!!! Like where am I? Nazi Germany?? And I ask that because, as a young twelve year old, first being taught about the imprisonment of so many people, apartment rentals paris long term I asked myself, apartment rentals paris long term as I still do today... why didn't those MEN fight back, physically, apartment rentals paris long term before boarding those trains apartment rentals paris long term with their children and spouses? I was of reason, and telling me that the victims didn't fight back but remained passive on the trains was shocking to me. Afterall, then, I was a young American who grew up believing in the home of the free and the brave . That scenario made me think, who doesn't fight back when their children and spouses are being killed? The Jews, and those are the people that were focused on ( I know there were many Catholics exterminated as well) seemed very cowardice to me, as described in the text books. And it became an automatic conclusion to me, after being taught about WWII, that the me just didn't rise up. Well, this is happening right now. I am sickened by the men of this nation. They are weak, spineless jelly fish. And no matter how much woman want to BE men, in order to correct this terrible quirk. They will not.
all these rental car companies are taking shots at the customers. You reserve a type of car, they try to give you a smaller car and tell you it is the same class of what you reserved.this is only one situation and one company. talk to people who rent cars and everyone has a horror story of some kind.
Enterprise pulls the same scams, fleecing us for over $200! and my son rented a car from a local rental car agency because they were in a hurry the car wasn't detailed from previous renters and in Nevada their headlight went out, they got pulled over only to discover there was a pot stashed in the center console and a large knife also wedged in console area, now my son has to fight a $1300.00 ticket and also sue rental car company....
