Now the owner and head chef of his own restaurant, David grew up with a keen interest in British cars, in particular the Austin and Rover classic Mini. So when it came to looking for a car for himself, his wife and their two boys, he went to track down a MINI of his own.

Inspired by the work of other landscape photographers like Paul Zizka, Trey Ratcliff and Jimmy McIntyre, he captures the majesty one can see driving through the Canadian landscape with an ultra-wide lens. "I work long days so I shoot mostly sunrises in different locations, and sunsets in the summer when I'm off work." Whatever the weather, it's his MINI Cabrio that takes him from one location to the next. "Whenever I get the chance I drive the MINI with the top down, and I receive some looks in -11 C weather!"
Photography is David's passion, and it's having proven an incredible motivator to get out and explore. "It has taken me to places that allow me to stop and capture beauty that I would otherwise pass by without a second glance. It's not only the scenery you miss by going too fast, you also miss the sense of where you are going and why."
