It could be that you book with them and you still deal with Hertz rentals although ususally it will be Europecar or another agency. Upon arrival in Munich I discovered I had forgotten to bring the power supply cord. The extra costs were more than worth it since we were all over the back roads of Franconia in Germany and even further out in the boonies of Tuscany. But realize that if you rent from Avis -- when you return home if you have a problem and call Avis, you will immediately be told that Avis in Europe is separate and you must call them. I'm not sure if the same thing is true with Hertz. But AutoEurope is indeed located in the US and you will only deal with US offices if you encounter any sort of problem.
