Once participants have obtained five certified entries at the different locations on their score car


Downtown Covington is the site for this year’s “Cruising, Strolling Tasting For St. Jude,” a fundraiser to benefit napa valley bus wine tours St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, being held on Saturday, napa valley bus wine tours July 12, beginning at 11 a.m. During this fundraiser, which is a volunteer-run event spearheaded by Lisa Marie Lucidi, a Covington hair salon owner, napa valley bus wine tours participants will “stroll or cruise” from one local restaurant to the next, “tasting” a sampling of one or two of the restaurant’s napa valley bus wine tours most interesting napa valley bus wine tours dishes, along with drink specials at an additional charge. Live music at the final stop is being provided by local band, The Bear Brothers, beginning at 4 p.m.
Mac’s on Boston Street, Columbia Street Rock N Blues Café, Winos and Tacos, The English Tea Room Eatery, and Prime by c3 are the participating restaurants who are donating their dishes to the cause. Tickets to Cruising, Strolling Tasting For St. Jude are $40 per person or $70 per couple, if pre-registering through July 11; $40 per person at the door. “This year we decided to select restaurants within napa valley bus wine tours walking distance, to allow people to take their time strolling from place to place,” said Lucidi, who has coordinated volunteer fundraisers for St. Jude’s for over 17 years.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. at Mac’s on Boston Street , 324 E. Boston Street, with dining from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. , moves on to Columbia napa valley bus wine tours Street Rock N. Blues Café at 407 N. Columbia Street, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. , followed by a third stop at Winos and Tacos , 321 N. Columbia Street, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.   The fourth stop is at The English napa valley bus wine tours Tea Room , 734 E. Rutland Street, napa valley bus wine tours from 2 to 3:30 p.m. , and the final stop is at Prime by c3 , 326 Lee Lane, from 3 to 5 p.m. At each stop, participants will pick a playing card and try the sampling the restaurant has prepared. All stops are located in downtown Covington.
Once participants have obtained five certified entries at the different locations on their score cards, at the final stop they’ll participate in a raffle or place a bid on various auction items. Participants with the top three poker hands will win prizes.
“This is our third year, and the restaurants have really put together some amazing samplings napa valley bus wine tours for our event,” said Lucidi. The menu includes: pulled pork Benny, peppered jelly cream cheese, poached egg and Cerolaise sauce, with sweet potato hash (Mac’s); mini kabobs and quesadillas (Rock and Blues); napa valley bus wine tours a three meat taco bar (Winos napa valley bus wine tours and Tacos); assorted teas and scones (The English Tea Room) and shrimp and grits (Prime by c3). Each restaurant is also offering a drink special at a low, additional charge.
Lucidi is passionate about helping others with cancer. When she’s not cutting hair at her shop in downtown Covington, or handling the hair and makeup for visiting Broadway and opera performances in New Orleans, Lucidi can be found volunteering for the Look Good, Feel Better program at the St. Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, teaching skin care, and make up and wig tips for women undergoing chemotherapy. Last year, her event raised over $5,000 for St. Jude, and she hopes to double that on July 12.
“St. Jude ensures that no child in need is turned away because they don’t have the money to pay for cancer treatment,” said Lucidi. “One hundred percent of the proceeds will go towards St. Jude to assist them in finding new treatments for childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases.”
Transportation to and from each stop is not provided, and designated drivers are recommended when drinking.
