To prevent accused Aurora theater shooter James Holmes from looking bank of america government travel card check my balance guilty to jurors, Judge Carlos bank of america government travel card check my balance Samour will allow him to swap his orange prison jumpsuit for civilian clothes during his trial and sit at the defendant's table without shackles and chains on his hands and feet.
But what jurors won't see is a security harness Samour ordered Holmes to wear beneath his clothes that will be anchored to the floor with a cable. The cable will be disguised among computer cords beneath the table.
Although Holmes has appeared quiet and cooperative during bank of america government travel card check my balance his many court appearances since last summer's shooting rampage that killed 12 people and injured 58, Samour told Holmes he had to be restrained during the trial because of the violent crimes he's charged with.
Holmes allegedly opened fire with an arsenal of weapons in a packed movie theater during the midnight premier of "The Dark Knight Rises" on July 20. He was clad in body armor and a helmet and was originally mistaken by police as a law enforcement officer responding to the shooting.
Holmes has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity and he is currently undergoing a mental health evaluation. Among the many developments in the case as the one-year anniversary of the shooting draws near is that Samour granted psychiatrists an extra six weeks to complete their evaluation.
According to Reuters , state doctors needed more time because of the "extraordinary amount of documentation" in the case. Samour still hopes to begin the trial in February, but has indicated the date could be pushed back.
Also among the new developments is that jurors will not be sequestered during the trial, nor will they be banned from using smartphones, watching TV or using the Internet outside of court, restrictions that Samour called unfair and too burdensome in an Associated Press article .
Samour also agreed to loosen some of the extremely tight security measures at the Arapahoe County Courthouse and agreed bank of america government travel card check my balance that sheriff's deputies would stand farther away from Holmes than they have in the past. Some deputies will be seated in plain clothes in the courtroom. The measures were again for the sake of not making Holmes appear guilty to jurors.

In an absolutely horrid and lack-of-transparency move, United Airlines is disabling the "expert mode" feature tonight on their website. It allows anyone to see inventory allocations in every fare class and "bucket" on a given United flight, such as:
If this type of display is alphabet soup and meaningless to you, tonight's change won't be so worrisome. However, for those of us who rely on it to determine which flights have available upgrades confirmable at ticketing (and for other fare construction purposes), this is a HUGE change and one that has angered nearly everyone .
Okay, yes… not everyone understands fare classes and airline availability. But is such a display really so misinterpreted car rentals toronto canada that it causes significant customer service issues? I don't think that's the entire story of why United is taking it down.
United points to the fact that other websites and services "scrape" this inventory and display it to their users. It's a popular feature – one that allows those of us who understand its data to ultimately select flights. United knows this, but allegedly insists those who misinterpret it represent a larger population of users than those for whom it helps.
Stupid is as stupid does .Oh Yes, expert mode created so much confusion for the neophyte traveler ..this should solve all of UA s woes. I can t help to think though that it is us experts that brought this upon ourselves. By knowing how to game the system and take advantage of it and then worse, publishing how to do it has now caught up with us. Still a bush league car rentals toronto canada move. Don t they have bigger issues to fix let see phantom seat availability on award charts, unsolicited seat unassignments, 6 week response times from emails to customer svc, etc etc and another etc. Yep, glad that fixed this major hiccup.
car rentals toronto canada If there is any silver lining in this, it s that some people will, for some irrational and not understandable reason, reduce their flying on United, meaning less elites ahead of me on the upgrade list.
Just looked on ExpertFlyer and the only inventory they don t show is the saver award/upgrade inventory, all other inventory is there. So it s clear the only reason they did this is so people can t see which flights have upgrade inventory. It wouldn t surprise me if it was really because of people calling, namely 1Ks who see R/RN 0 within the upgrade window and their upgrades haven t cleared.
I wanted to let you know that we'll be re-launching Expert Mode as an opt-in feature later this afternoon. This feature will display all fare classes when shopping for flights on united.com. You can opt-in to this feature by logging into your MileagePlus account and following these steps:

Last weekend I flew down to Destin, FL to spend 3 wonderful days with all of my Brandcation girlfriends at the Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village travel agent jobs at home . This place was gorgeous! travel agent jobs at home The staff was amazing there, too. Any time we d walk through the lobby they would greet us and ask if there was anything travel agent jobs at home they could do for us.
Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village is Destin s shining jewel overlooking some of the most marvelous turquoise water and sugar sand beaches in creation. Add in some of the most spectacular sunsets you ll ever witness, and you ll soon see why the Emerald Grande is a place you won t soon forget.
The hotel has so many options for you to take advantage of! They have a Starbucks on property that will deliver to your room (which we got one morning and their sandwiches were good!) (I ll write a whole post about the food I ate while in Destin in a day or so.) They have paddle boarding, jet skiing, snorkeling, shopping, and so much more on property! If you stay at the Emerald Grande , you have absolutely no reason to get back in your car while there.
The rooms on property are all gorgeous and have amazing views. I didn t go into a room that had a bad view! The rooms we all stayed travel agent jobs at home in had a master suite that had a king size bed and amazing bathtub, a second bedroom with a queen size bed that had an adjoining bathroom that leads the hall, and an extra bunk room (that has no windows). There is also a full kitchen travel agent jobs at home and living room/dining room.
The hotel took awesome care of us while we were there! The first day they gave us a shuttle out to Norriego Point which it felt like we had our own private beach for about an hour until the next group of people came out. We had a good time! Some of the girls did the wobble on the beach. There was dancing, playing in the water, sun bathing and then we had about an hour of blog talk, which was awesome! What better place can you learn about blogging? (Well, except it was hard to take notes!)
We were supposed to paddle board, but the weather wasn t cooperating for that. It was nice to just hang out with some friends and grab Starbucks travel agent jobs at home and talk! One more awesome thing about the resort is that there is free wifi and you can pick it up along the HarborWalk as well!
I think my entire family would love the Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village . The outdoor pool was amazing. It was like walking into a bathtub and it s nice because it has a beach entry and doesn t get too deep for the kids. It s definitely a great property to just check in and hang out for a whole weekend. I plan to plan a vacation there soon with my family for sure!

Guitarist Giulio Moschini commented: We re extremely happy to tour again with our friends in Psycrop
Italian death metallers HOUR OF PENANCE will embark on a European tour this fall alongside Australian tech-death act Psycroptic and UK death outfit Dyscarnate . Prior to the tour -- which kicks off in Belgium on Sept. 20 -- the band will be seen appearing at several of the summer's tour guides in tokyo japan heaviest international festivals. All upcoming dates are listed below.
Guitarist Giulio Moschini commented: We re extremely happy to tour again with our friends in Psycroptic and Dyscarnate and most of all to play again in Europe after the successful tour we did with Cannibal Corpse, Devildriver tour guides in tokyo japan and The Black Dahlia Murder in February. For the first time, Hour of Penance will also play in Ireland! Be there!
Moschini commented: Since the release of (2012's) 'Sedition,' the band has played over 150 shows throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. We have had great times on the road and would like to thank all the fans who came to our shows and bought 'Sedition,' as well as all the people we worked with during this year. This was without a doubt a big source tour guides in tokyo japan of inspiration for us, and while at home or between shows, we started collecting ideas for our next record. Even if what we have right now are only demos of the new songs, we can already tour guides in tokyo japan say that if you loved 'Sedition' and our past albums, you ll go crazy with this new record. We worked our asses off and meticulously worked on improving our music once again, so we re very glad to announce that a new album will be recorded after this tour!"
Guitarist Paolo Pieri added: We re currently working on the lyrics and vocals for the new songs. This album will be more varied and brutal than everything we've done so far. The new material sounds totally fresh and will be a bone-crushing feast for old and new fans of Hour of Penance.

Funeral for a Friend We re really excited about Lord Of The Fries (An Interview With Pat Lundy) | Metal Obsession
Post-Hardcore pioneers Funeral for a Friend are preparing cheap airline fairs for their biggest Australian tour to date on the back of their new album and return to roots Conduit . MetalObsession had the pleasure of speaking to Pat Lundy ahead of their tour.
Metal Obsession: Hi Pat, thanks for taking the time out to chat to MetalObsession. It s the early morning here in Australia, cheap airline fairs whats happening on the other side of the world at the moment. Is it relaxation time, or rehearsals?
MO: Your first album with the band, Conduit , has been getting a lot of solid reviews, and a lot of them claim of a return to form, especially after Memory and Humanity 2 albums ago. How big a part of this was with you joining the band?
PL: It was somewhat changed with me joining I suppose but they had written the material, so I guess I just put a little of my flavour onto it in the recording studio. They had made the conscious decision to scrap the earlier album sounds from Tales and Memory cheap airline fairs and get back to their roots.
PL: I just really didn t want to hear anything that was going to represent the stuff that was on Memory. Thats me personally, and I know the others guys that joined both agree, so kinda like everyone is on the same wavelength. Given that the bands had a few line up changes over the 10-12 years we ve been a band, I think that now the formula is a bit more solid. Its definitely working for the writing and stuff.
PL: I didn t really care to be honest. I d toured with them beforehand cheap airline fairs and supported them in my old band, and I think they know what I think of their back catalogue. And they still asked me to audition, so I don t think they took it to heart. I think they knew they were in a bit of a bad place, as a band at that time, and ya know, everyone has dark days where you kinda struggle to recall why you re in the band in the first place, and they didn t really know what they were doing and weren t very happy as a band and they d been on tour solidly for 8 years which kinda drivers anyone insane. So I can see why the setup deteriorated a bit and its been resolved since, and just looking forward to getting cheap airline fairs back out to cool places again, putting out the next record, and the one after that.
PL: Yeah man, I don t think anyone of us have done so much in the 5 states, so theres a whole new bunch of places we re doing where I haven t been to, and I don t think the other guys either, its just generally Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney. We re really excited about Lord Of The Fries though. Thats probably number one on our list of things to do. Matt s been tweeting the guys months in advance, so they ll be expecting cheap airline fairs him. [laughs]
PL: For the Aussie set I don t know, you tell me, what should we play? We were having this discussion a few days ago. Theres a few new songs off Conduit that we re going to be throwing in, and some other ones that we have played in years and years to any crowd, we kinda wanna do something special for Oz, for this being quite an intimate aussie tour. We want to bring out a few aces.
PL: On our most recent tour I think 94% of shows were sold out, with just over 30 shows. cheap airline fairs Most bands would have done 9 or 10 shows in big rooms, and we could have done it like that, but we really wanted cheap airline fairs to do a lengthy long tour getting out to everywhere, rather than people coming to us. I suppose if you re a band and you take a year off to write a record, and you want to start a touring schedule, its important you make the effort first, and we all wanted to go to the smaller towns, especially in the UK. We re from here, and we haven t been everywhere, to go to new places in the UK is still exciting. Theres a lot places to play man.
PL: End Of Nothing is a good one to play, B roken Foundation , thats quite a heavy track, cheap airline fairs and I suppose off the new record Conduit cheap airline fairs is a bit of a banger, and we open with that on the most recent tour.
PL: When Darren left the band they played cheap airline fairs his farewell show like that, I think they did a limited pressing on DVD. Well, I have one anyway. And they did the whole front to back Casually Dressed thing. I think the next one will be Hours in 2015. And we ll do like a tour for that or something, and play that in its entirety.
MO: After the Australian tour its back to Europe for the summer there, and a lot of touring. Are you looking forward to getting the music in front of so many new faces? Would you like a break at all, or you re happy with go-go-go for the time being?
PL: Its good man, we re on a good vibe I think. We re tour fit, and it takes a while to get there in my previous experience, and I think we re working better with the flight times now. The start of the year, our first show was japan, and it was a real long flight, play 1 show, and the flight back. We kinda got battered early on, hopefully we won t have too much jet lag now, and we ll be smashing these shows. It ll be fun.
PL: We did this thing with our label out there, to get a ticket to see the show you had to buy the cd. It was a cool thing. cheap airline fairs A few hundred kids in the Quotro Club, it was a vibe. I was really glad that we did it, but it was a hell of a lot of travel for an hours set.

I was once leaving a café in Alaska to walk back to my hotel when I witnessed a fisherman clubbing a baby seal to death on the wharf. I was wearing headphones at the time, and Blur tracks like 'Parklife' 'The Debt Collector' and 'Far Out' to this day force me to recall a series of images and feelings I was profoundly affected by. Hailing from Adelaide, Diva Demolition are a unique female-fronted rock band with reminiscent of Joan Jett. Comprised of singer, songwriter bass player Kylie Cowling and Sherree Newton, they originially formed as an all-female band in 2005.
Diva Demolition came together mid 2012. Previous to that Myself (Kylie Cowling) and Sherree Newton had performed together for 6 years in various guises, most notably the all girl original punk band Legless , and Rock Covers band The Cherries . With the encouragement from Mentor, airline international flight routes Ross Wilson, (Mondo Rock, Daddy Cool) and a chance opportunity from performing as support act for Doc Neeson (The Angels) we teamed up with Ricky Collision and Spitfire Records.
Could you tell me who came up with the Diva Demolition band? The name came from an independent album from the punk band Legless. When we were looking for a new name, Ross Wilson our Mentor suggested Diva Demolition. We thought why not. It fitted what we wanted to say and do.
omg I can t believe I ve never heard of these boys I just looked them up and WOW! They are amazing!! airline international flight routes They could so be our Toy Boys, but we might get arrested! As far as the our scene goes, I think theres a real divide between the rock glam sleaze scene and indie scene, and a somewhat elitist view here for new hard rock artists. airline international flight routes We shake our heads at why Airborne are not a household name here, and not having heard of Mystery proves the fact that Australian Industry are so busy trying to be cool they can t see the success stories and jump on board. Despite this there were massive crowds for the touring acts we ve supported recently. But to get the cred, like Airborne and Mystery our hard rock bands have to prove themselves overseas.
Yes most definitely! Late 2013/2014 airline international flight routes will see us take off to foreign shores to promote the new album, as well as work on our next. No solid plans I can tell you about as of yet, but it will happen inevitably.
airline international flight routes We re inspired to put on a terrific show after seeing those bands. Music should be about fun and entertainment. We re coming up with a few of our own tricks! We still feel amazed about it and grateful for the experience.
We start rehearsal this week for our Australian Tour. We ve just had after a reasonable break from each other after touring pretty intensively. It s a big country to get around. It seems like we ve not had an opportunity to settle at home yet. Our focus is to get our live set really tight and incorporate some theatrical aspects as well as get some new tunes and maybe a cover happening as well. There are some album tracks we ve not played live yet, so it will be fun to relearn them and finally launch them into the stratosphere.

This play is a brave leap of imagination that takes just a little too long to achieve lift off. Katori Hall has taken up the challenge of writing a play about a historical hero Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that presents him as an ordinary man who smokes and swears and flirts and otherwise does what people do. Some may find this offensive, especially if they are sensitive to cursing, but for me the play works to humanize heroism and thus make it a little more possible to imagine that it's something any of us can achieve, if we see our moment and hold to our best selves.
The Mountaintop is set on April 3, 1968, in room 306 of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee: the night before King's assassination. The setting is painstakingly recreated at TheaterWorks. Set designer Evan Anderson assisted on the Broadway production and traveled travel on a budget to Memphis where he was allowed to enter the room itself, now preserved as a museum, and take exact measurements, match colors, and photograph details down to the scuff marks on the walls. There's an exhibit upstairs from the theater travel on a budget with some of his photos and research. This is, to my mind, a fine way to pay respect to the importance of the man and the subject the play takes up.
But don't be fooled by all the naturalistic details into thinking that this is a naturalist play: it's not, and it really comes into its own as a piece of theater once the playwright leaves realism behind and vaults travel on a budget into another realm. I just wish it happened a little travel on a budget sooner: until it does, both actors in the piece seemed to be ill at ease and struggling to find their centers in the early show I saw.
Jamil A.C. Mangan has the impossible job of playing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The play requires him to hold off on unleashing his full vocal powers until the very final moments, and without the use of that tool he is not fully credible as the familiar icon so the performance can work only because he is playing the hero off duty. Courtney Thomas plays the hotel maid Camae, who is far more than she appears to be at first glance. It's in this character that the playwright's imagination travel on a budget has taken flight, and Thomas brings edgy energy, profanity, and profundity to bear as needed. Slight travel on a budget of frame, she's able to fill the space with irreverence and intrigue as she works toward her real mission one that I won't reveal here. At certain crucial moments, she's aided by abrupt travel on a budget light and sound design that is overtly theatrical and effective.
Rob Ruggiero as director thus uses his design team to fine effect. travel on a budget He's elicited performances that are detailed and nuanced. He's helped the actors forge a connection that seems very strong and open. He's created blocking that avoids being stilted or repetitive despite the constraints of a cramped hotel room with two single beds and not a lot of open space. I just wish the play got to where it is going a little faster. Know that this is not really a play for kids, and it isn't a hagiography, but it is a play of spirit and depth. I recommend it for all who are ready for a different take on one of our nation's martyrs.
Yeah, you could call it a tourist trap. Most things that tourists want to see are! The guy is dead n
With only one night in Memphis, we knew we had to make the most of it. Sure, we went to see the famous Peabody Ducks, poked around budget car rental airport Beale Street, and even caught a bit of Elvis-mania , but our first stop was perhaps the most important: the National Civil Rights Museum . Housed in the Lorraine Motel, it s at the very site that Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968.
I grew up in the south. Black History Month was a big event every year in school. I know the facts. But it s a different experience to stand in front of room 306 instead of flipping through a history book. As we rolled into Memphis, the city wasn t quite what I expected. It was empty like creepily and eerily deserted. It reminded me of my brief stay in Dar Es Salaam. It was a weekday afternoon around lunchtime, so I expected people to be at work downtown and strolling the sidewalks. Instead, we just saw a bunch of guys sitting on a curb, smoking in front of a convenience store that s it. After a few wrong turns, we pulled into the parking lot of the museum and were relieved to see other people budget car rental airport around.
The museum is housed in two buildings: the Lorraine Motel and the building across the street where the assassin stood. The first part of the tour takes place in the motel and begins with an excellent video narrated by Dr. King s friend who was present on April 4th. Following the video, you walk through the main part of the exhibit about the Civil Rights Movement and then get a peek inside room 306. After, you walk across the street to read more about the days leading up to the assassination, the search for the killer, and human rights movements in other parts of the world. While I was there, the Lorraine Motel also had a temporary exhibit on building the museum.
While it was a bit too much information budget car rental airport overload (the wall presentations have so much wording that it would be impossible to read everything) it was worth visiting. As we exited the museum, we spotted yet another interesting character (pictured below) on the sidewalk. A former resident of the Lorraine Motel, she claims to have been on this street corner for 23 years, protesting budget car rental airport the museum and what it stands for. When we went to go talk to her, she was on her cell phone. budget car rental airport However, we gathered from the signs and papers on the table, that instead budget car rental airport of a museum, she would rather see the motel turned into something like a halfway house or school to benefit the community. She thinks the idea of tourism and the museum goes against everything Dr. King stood for. I think her argument is highly debatable any thoughts? budget car rental airport Is the museum a good idea or a bad tourist trap?
Nice that you were able to visit a little bit of black history while you were there. I don t know if I really agree with what the lady is thinking but 23 years is a long time to be trying to prove her point. I can only imagine all the information you were presented with.
Well, at least you are honest and now know more about the story. Have you visited the 16th St. Baptist budget car rental airport Church in Birmingham, AL.? That also has the infamous park where Bull Connor sent his dogs and firehoses to attack MLK and the Freedom Marchers (many of them were middle/high school children). The park is right across budget car rental airport the street from the church. budget car rental airport Another powerful site to be in if you are into the Civil Rights history.
Yeah, you could call it a tourist trap. Most things budget car rental airport that tourists want to see are! The guy is dead now, so there is no point trying to imagine what he would have thought about it At least people are being educated about the struggle for equality!
Following inspiring presentations by Dare 2 Be Real Co-Creators Patrick Duffy and Anthony Galloway,
Brother Ali compared our country s journey for civil rights to a 24-hour schedule with the time of slavery being from midnight to 3:00 p.m.; the battle for legal rights and desegregation as a period from 3:00-9:00 pm.; and the time of post-racial as 9:00pm to 4:00 a.m. He asked us to put the timeframe in perspective rights have been in place for a very short period of time, and huge disparities still exist.
We live in a nation built on systems, said Brother Ali systems that continue 3 star hotel barcelona to benefit one group of people 3 star hotel barcelona over others. Because of these systems, African Americans are three times more likely than whites to be born in poverty. The idea of whiteness is a lie, he said. It has lowered the stock in our minds on humanity. We ve gotta get back to being a human being and break our colonial 3 star hotel barcelona mind, he said. He cautioned white students that they do not need to provide charity, but to be allies in the struggle, which is not just right, but we have a duty to do that.
Brother Ali spoke of the recent Lincoln movie and how Lincoln was portrayed as the hero, with no mention of Frederick Douglass counsel to Lincoln. And Mrs. Lincoln was portrayed as crazy, said Brother Ali. She wasn t crazy. She advised her husband to do the right thing.
He encouraged students to read books, such as the following: 3 star hotel barcelona Howard Zinn s People s History of the U.S. ; Tim Wise s White Like Me; James Baldwin s The Fire Next Time; and Michelle Alexander s book The New Jim Crow.
Following inspiring presentations by Dare 2 Be Real Co-Creators Patrick Duffy and Anthony Galloway, with Patrick reminding the audience that No Child is Born Racist, students proceeded to workshops that included: Art as a Tool for Change; SPEAK! Using Poetry for Change; Finding Your Voice; Lies My Teacher Taught Me, Owning Your Audience; Fired Up: Managing Disagreement and Reliving the Movement.
In the Fired Up session, students listened to 2Pac s song Changes, with one student team debating that the world will never change; and the other arguing that the world will change for the better. A third student team identified debate criteria, such as control, evidence, confidence and audience engagement. The team asserting that the world is not changing received the most points!
In Reliving 3 star hotel barcelona the Movement, high school seniors Korlu Borsay and Jennifer Afamefune from Armstrong High School in Plymouth led a session on their retracing the Civil Rights journey through Selma to Memphis. Along with showing 3 star hotel barcelona sites of their trip, including the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, they quizzed their fellow students on Civil Rights 3 star hotel barcelona history through a Civil Rights Research Tour Quiz. Questions included: What is Jacqueline Smith s personal dream for the Lorraine Hotel? and In what city did the landmark Brown vs. the Board of Education originate? *
In their description 3 star hotel barcelona of places visited, they also told the story of how Martin Luther King Jr. would always buy fresh flowers 3 star hotel barcelona for Coretta when he traveled. However, as he prepared to leave for Memphis, he gave her synthetic flowers instead, which made her angry. Coretta King knew something was up when Martin Luther 3 star hotel barcelona King told her, Plastic flowers will last forever. The flowers still sit at the historic home of the King family in Atlanta, Georgia.
Korlu said that something she was never taught was that It wasn t just African Americans fighting for Civil Rights, because it s not just called African American s right to vote. It s called the Civil Rights 3 star hotel barcelona Movement, and there were a lot of ethnic groups, Latinos and Native Americans, that were fighting for the course and if you were a white citizen sympathetic to the cause, you got terrorized that night your house was bombed.
The evening ended with Open Mic and students sharing their reflections of the day. They were asked to share a six-word 3 star hotel barcelona reflection on race such as Race silences the truth we know, and their R.E.P. (or racial equity purpose), such as Raising the Youth Voice. Students 3 star hotel barcelona shared their hopes and dreams for the future, including 3 star hotel barcelona breaking down this horrible illusion called race.
*Jacqueline s personal dream has been to convert the Lorraine Motel into sheltered housing or community center for the poor and displaced instead of a National Museum. She has actively protested for over fourteen years to make this a reality .
On May 17, 1954, the United States supreme court stated the segregation of white and colored children in public schools has a detrimental effect upon colored children. Brown v. Board of Education originated in Topeka, Kansas, 3 star hotel barcelona where Linda Brown, a black 3rd grade student, had to attend a segregated elementary school located a mile from her home, even though she lived only a few blocks from a white elementary school.

As a student at the Juilliard School, Joaquina Kalukango was familiar with Katori Hall's work. "She was a playwright and I was a first year drama student," Joaquina said. "We had this thing called community meeting where the playwrights would read their work. That's where I got to experience a lot of her writing, which was really cool."
Hall went on to write The Mountaintop , a fictional account of Dr. Martin Luther qualifying for the nationwide tour King, Jr.'s encounter with a hotel maid on April 4, 1968, the eve of his assassination. The play premiered in 2009 in London where it won the Olivier Best New Play Award, then moved to Broadway in September, 2011, starring Samuel L. Jackson as King, and Angela Bassett as the maid, Camae.
Joaquina, who was a Drama Desk nominee for Hall s Hurt Village at the Signature Theater in New York, played the role of Camae at the Alley Theater in Houston, opposite Bowman Wright as King. The duo stars in the Arena Stage production which will open in the Kreeger Theater on April 4, running through May 12. Robert O'Hara, who directed the Houston production, is also directing for Arena Stage.
The two-person play takes place on one set, ostensibly Room 306 of the Lorraine Hotel, in Memphis. The staging created challenges when moving the play from Houston to Washington. "It's been an interesting transition because the house at the Alley Theater qualifying for the nationwide tour in Houston qualifying for the nationwide tour was much larger," said Joaquina. "At Arena Stage, it's much more intimate so having qualifying for the nationwide tour to pull back and just fill out the space has been challenging."
Joaquina describes qualifying for the nationwide tour her chemistry with co-star Wright as "electric." She added: "As soon as these characters meet, it's like instant electricity. There's just something very beautiful qualifying for the nationwide tour about how their relationship develops. It starts out as just an attraction and then moves on to something completely different by the end." She and Bowman, now familiar with each other, work hard to find that "freshness," she said.
Prior to taking on the role, Joaquina did her homework. "Every time you do a play, it's like being back in school, learning about the world that you're going to inhabit," she explained. Besides reading qualifying for the nationwide tour A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. , and Ralph Abernathy's qualifying for the nationwide tour And the Walls Came Tumbling Down , Joaquina took advantage of other material supplied to the cast by "a great dramatist," including other King interviews and FBI tapes.
Joaquina said she was drawn to play Camae. "I have a fondness for characters that are country girls because I was raised in Atlanta, Georgia," she said. "The fact that I get to play around with my own accent is fun. I've been used to playing qualifying for the nationwide tour little kids so this was my first time getting to play somebody qualifying for the nationwide tour around my own age, a woman, somebody who was comfortable in her own body, who was very opinionated, who drinks and smokes. It was something that was so very exciting for me."
Joaquina laughed when asked how she transformed herself physically for the role. "You saw the helmet!" she said, referring to the wig she wears. "The hairspray! They gave me wigs, eyelashes, bright pink lipstick qualifying for the nationwide tour that people only wore in the sixties." While the fashions may be dated, qualifying for the nationwide tour the conversation is not. "When you hear Camae talk, it feels present day to me," she said. "I love that about the character, that it didn't feel to be dated from the sixties."
In middle school, Joaquina thought she wanted to be a psychologist. A counselor told her to audition for the Tri-Cities High School for the Visual Performing Arts in East Point, Georgia, near Atlanta. After being accepted, she attended the school's production of Once on This Island. "I was so blown away that people were singing and dancing on stage, the amount of emotion I felt watching it," she said. "I think that's what got me started."
Joaquina said she received very positive feedback from the audiences in Houston. "When people heard about the play, many were skeptical and didn't want to see it," she said. "Afterwards talking to people, particularly first time theater-goers, they were so excited. They were like, `This is the best thing we've ever seen.'" Forty-five years after the 1968 assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., the one-time chief counsel for the House Select Committee on Assassinations says the FBI should run the unidentified fingerprints in King s assassination.
Thoughtful people today, not just nuts, think that more people than James Earl Ray were involved, said G. Robert Blakey, a former Justice Department official who also served as staff director to the House committee between 1977 and 1979.
Almost a year after King s April 4, 1968, assassination, Ray pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to life. Three days later, he tried to withdraw his plea, claiming he was innocent and had been set up as a patsy in a larger conspiracy. He died in prison in 1998.
The House Select Committee on Assassinations examined a $50,000 bounty on King's head that a St. Louis businessman supposedly put up. The White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan in Mississippi also promised a $100,000 bounty that Ray heard about while in prison future space travel in Missouri, according to FBI documents.
In 2010, the Justice Department said it was considering a request to run the many unidentified fingerprints through the FBI s Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System, but apparently never ran them.
In his book, Gerald Posner, author of Killing the Dream: James Earl Ray and the Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. , concluded that Ray had indeed killed King, but that Ray may not have acted alone.
Running future space travel the fingerprints future space travel makes sense, he said. It s a great idea to run the unidentified future space travel FBI prints through their new computer. Nothing to lose, and there s a chance it produces something productive, possibly even tantalizing.
For the past several future space travel years, Stuart Wexler and Larry Hancock, co-authors of The Awful Grace of God: Religious Terrorism, White Supremacy and the Unsolved Murder of Martin Luther King Jr. , have been trying future space travel to get the FBI to run the fingerprints.
The FBI investigated and found that one of the men got into a cab, told it to go to West Memphis, Ark., then mid-trip ordered the cabbie to turn around and take him to the airport in Memphis, Wexler future space travel said. He scouted the airport, then told the cabbie to return future space travel to the William Len. There he picked up his partner. The two then left on the airplane to Houston, Texas.
Agents determined the names and addresses were fake, but the trail grew cold once it reached Houston, he said. They simply threw their hands up and said, Maybe they were just two criminals in town and wanted to avoid the heat. Perhaps that is right, perhaps not.
Shouldn t we do whatever future space travel we can to find out what happened? Suppose we find fingerprints that point to people against whom already have other evidence showing that they might have been involved. It would break the case wide open, probably not for a prosecution, because everybody is dead, perpetrators and witnesses, he said. History is involved, too.
Martin and David return to Memphis on Wednesday, April 3 to work on the march plans. They check into
Today was a hard day. We are in Memphis. In this blog on our Civil Rights tour I have only gotten to the point in 1960 when Martin left his call at Dexter Avenue in Montgomery and moved back to Atlanta. There are so many pictures and experiences to share between 1960 and 1968--but, when you are in Memphis, 1968 shouts out.
This is a sad place, and you can get so close to it--painfully close. hotels in florida The National Civil Rights Museum here incorporates both the Lorraine Hotel, where Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated, and the boarding house where James Earl Ray was staying. The museum takes you through the entire history of being black in America, from slavery to the Civil War, to Reconstruction, to segregation, and then all of the major events hotels in florida of the Civil Rights Movement.
It is the winter of 1968, and the sanitation workers in Memphis have decided to go on strike because of the terrible ways in which they are being treated. At this point Martin is putting most of his effort into the Poor People's Campaign, an effort to bring attention hotels in florida to the tremendous amount of poverty present in America. The plan is to begin a march in Mississippi that will go all the way to Washington, D. C. But, since the sanitation workers were themselves extremely poor, he decides he should support this effort.
On March 18 Martin goes to Memphis, where a crowd of 15,000 awaited him at the Mason Temple. He encourages the workers to continue their strike, which had started on February 12. He ends his speech with these words: Having to live under the threat of death every day, sometimes I get discouraged. Having to take so much abuse and criticism, sometimes from my own people, I get discouraged. . . . . .sometimes I feel discouraged and that my work is in vain. But then the Holy Spirit revives my soul again. In Gilead, hotels in florida there is balm to make the wounded whole. If we believe that, we will build a new Memphis.
Martin returns to Memphis on March 28 to lead another march. However, some young folks who had not been trained in the methodology of non-violence joined the march, and, far behind Martin, who was at the front of the march, starting breaking windows hotels in florida in the stores and violence resulted. The march had to be stopped, hotels in florida and Martin was rushed away for his own protection.
Martin was extremely disturbed by this, not only worrying that people would see him as not being able to prevent violence in a demonstration, but also that he might not be able to prevent violence in the march on Washington scheduled for April 22. Those around him say he is as depressed and anxious as they have ever seen him.
Martin and David Abernathy, who now is also a pastor in Atlanta, fly home. Martin is convinced they need to have another march very soon in Memphis to demonstrate that it can be done non-violently. After much negotiating and planning, that date is set for Monday, April 8.
Martin and David return to Memphis on Wednesday, April 3 to work on the march plans. They check into room 306 of the Lorraine Hotel, a black-owned hotel, where Martin had been staying on his trips to Memphis since the 1950's. As part of the build-up to the march, another rally is being held at the Mason Temple. It was a rainy, dark night, and a small crowd is expected. Martin was still depressed about the events since the last march, and was fighting a cold, and told David to go and address the audience himself.
When David got to the Temple only about 2000 people were there. However, he quickly realizes that Martin is the one they want to hear. He calls the Lorraine Hotel and asks Martin to come over. He agrees to do so. Not planning to speak, he has no notes.
After the speech David and Martin have a late dinner with friends, and return to the Lorraine Hotel late at night. Martin's brother, A.D. had arrived from his new call in Louisville, and they and others stay up even later to visit. Martin and A.D. also call their Mother in Atlanta and visit with her for about an hour.
The next day, April 4, was filled hotels in florida with a number of meetings in preparation for the April 8 march. Martin and David and many of the SCLC staff had been invited to dinner at the home of Rev. Billy Kyles, a local pastor. Billy and Martin are standing hotels in florida on the balcony outside room 306, just after 6pm, when the shot rang out. I took these pictures from where James Earl Ray was standing, and where Martin was standing just outside of room 306.
Well, I don't know what will happen now; we've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now, because I've been to the mountaintop. And I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life--longevity has its place. hotels in florida But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over, and I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, hotels in florida will get to the promised land. And I'm happy tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.

Memphis home of the blues, Graceland and Beale Street. That s all we knew about Memphis before we got there. Oh, and one more thing the Peabody Ducks . Can t miss the Peabody Ducks. We wouldn t have known about the Peabody Ducks but for Kathe and Paul, who mentioned that they were a must-see when we got to Memphis. That s one of the fine things about traveling all over you meet people who ve walked this walk and can point you in the right direction.
The ducks are a great story. Five mallards that live upstairs at the grand Peabody Hotel (and I do mean grand). There are five of them. Every morning, just before 11 o clock, the hotel s duck master tells the camera-clicking throngs gathered in the hotel lobby that he s heading upstairs to get the ducks and they ll be right back. A few minutes later, the elevator doors open and out parade car oakland payless rental the five ducks, who march down the red carpet to the sounds of John Philip Sousa s King Cotton March, climb up the fountain steps, and slide into the water. car oakland payless rental And there they stay all day, swimming car oakland payless rental in the fountain until 5 p.m., at which point the duck master lays out the red carpet and leads the ducks back to the elevator and upstairs to their Royal Duck Palace on the hotel s rooftop. Fait accompli.
From the Peabody, it was down to the riverfront and a walk along the river through Jefferson Davis Park, in hopes of finding car oakland payless rental a replica of the Mississippi River. Indeed, the replica is down by the river, and if you visit Memphis sometime after April, you d take the footbridge over to Mud Island and find it there in the River Park. People who visit in March search for a picture on the Internet and move on.
Downtown Memphis car oakland payless rental is a compact place, with everything in walking distance. But if you want to leave downtown, car oakland payless rental it s wise to get in the car, because immediately outside the city district, it turns from bright lights, big city to rundown, barren. car oakland payless rental Our next stop was the Lorraine Motel. It was here that Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated the evening of April 4, 1968, on the balcony outside Room 306. The day before, car oakland payless rental he d delivered his I ve Been to the Mountaintop speech at the Mason Temple in Memphis, one that eerily foreshadowed the events of April 4. The Lorraine Motel/Hotel closed car oakland payless rental in 1988 and has since been revitalized as the National Civil Rights Museum. Below Room 306, down in the parking lot, there are replicas of the two cars that were parked there that fateful night, cars waiting to deliver King and his entourage to dinner.
car oakland payless rental Standing near the cars, looking up at the balcony, I paused for a few moments to consider the volatile year of 1968. People were angry, people were violent, not just here in Memphis, but across the nation. It was an ugly time. I was 14 at the time, without a care in the world, living my teeny bopper life in Canada, and that violence never touched me. It touches me now though.
Quite a few famous politicians are buried here, but we re not much into politics, we re into music. And food. We ll get to the music in my next post, but let me leave you with a shot of the lip-smacking car oakland payless rental good BBQ ribs at the Beale City Cafe on Beale St. Oh, man, were they good, so much so that we headed back for a repeat on our second night in town. And while we eat, we enjoy the scenery: one of the best bits of Beale is the interior walls of the establishments along the streets. There is a lot of history hanging on those walls, not all of it kitsch, but you gotta love those pink Cadillacs.

A s part of its Hour of Classical Music, Memphis public radio played the Kansas City Chorale singing Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye, an Irish war lament whose haunting melody echoes sports tickets the Civil War song, When Johnny Comes Marching Home. The doleful notes, the chants of drums and guns and drums and guns, and the long, hushed hurroos hung in the air like spirits unable to sleep. Since Tennessee, the war whose ghosts walked the landscape had changed. Farther north, we d passed fieldstone taverns where the Continental Army had planned attacks on redcoats. Now, we passed silent fields where hundreds or thousands of boys in gray and blue died. The weight of war felt heavier in the south than I feel it up north. Back home, buildings and monuments of the Revolution are the stuff of school field trips to clapboard places like Paul Revere s house. Its fighters are valiant figures with rousing collective names- Sons of Liberty, Founding Fathers, Green Mountain Boys. But those men were over two hundred years away from us, known through writings and artists renderings. I thought of them as icons, not as somebody s son, brother, father or friend. Here, it was closer, more intimate. sports tickets The boys who lie under this grass were not so far in time from us. There were photographs to show who they really were. We could study their eyes and hands and the buttons on their shirts. They were men and boys somebody loved and cried for. When we passed the sign for Shiloh, Adam and I exchanged a glance. Shiloh. The word had a powerful sadness. We had left behind sports tickets places where Americans created the nation and now looked on places where they almost took it apart. The hush of these southern knolls and grasses intensified the ability to imagine the death played out here. As if it happened yesterday. sports tickets I d never felt so palpably connected to war. Yet, from what I d seen since we left Boston, love of the country we became bridged any regional divide. From Massachusetts to Tennessee, the Stars and Stripes adorned barnsides, billboards, truck panels, car windows. Messages of encouragement sports tickets and patriotic optimism hung from churches, restaurants, beauty parlors, used car dealerships. Only one flag flew over America that summer, and one message of unity. The country was declaring that, while it was needed sports tickets and for as long as it was needed, all its parts would stay welded into a galvanized whole. Throughout our journey, the declaration rang clear. It was an invisible tensile thread stretching into every corner of the country, sewing sports tickets it together. I-40 now had a name as well as a number: The Music Highway. A stretch named for Carl Perkins. The Johnny Cash Rest Area, where a family from New Jersey decamped from a huge, black SUV, mom on one cellphone, dad on another. We entered Memphis on Sam Cooper Boulevard, where a billboard urged people to Rollerskate For Health. sports tickets Union Avenue s parade of huge churches Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist, Catholic led through downtown to the Mississippi. We crossed the river s pedestrian bridge to Mud Island and its scale model of the river system. The kids splashed downriver all the way to Memphis from Cairo, Illinois. We stood on Old Man River s real bank and tried to find a place where Adam could cast his line into the water. Before we left home, he d bought himself a collapsible sports tickets rod and a stocked tackle sports tickets box and was looking forward to a little fishing here and there. And here was the Mississippi. I offered an Adam-Huck simile, got a teenager look, and let fly my happiness anyway. I was standing in the sun on the banks of America s greatest river with my barefoot kids, one smiling wide and happy, one with rod in hand. We watched the world s luckiest ducks wrap up a day of lolling in the Peabody Hotel s lobby fountain. Ushered by a bellman, the ducks climbed out of the fountain on a tiny ladder and waddled on a red carpet sports tickets to the elevator that whisked them to their penthouse. Spectators clutched five-dollar bar drinks and bags of duck souvenirs from the gift shop. At the Rum Boogie Café on Beale Street, I held the cellphone up to the band so Mike could hear some blues. The music was wonderful, but I was more excited by my still novel ability to make a phone call from the middle of a Memphis dance floor. We left Beale about 7:30 p.m., just as dusk dropped and seriously sports tickets armed and muscled cops in groups of four began to appear. On the riverbank, people filed up the gangway for the 8 p.m. cruise on the Mississippi Queen . The night and the river were red and purple, and the soft green lights on the steel bridge that held the Arkansas state line in its middle glowed like mints. Before we left Memphis early the next morning, we stood in front of the Lorraine Motel. A white wreath hangs on a blue metal railing, marking the second-floor room where Martin Luther King died. I d hoped to see Jacqueline Smith, the protestor who s camped for years across from the Lorraine and who lived in it before it became the National Civil Rights Museum. sports tickets All her stuff was there on the corner. Her boxes and cardboard and signs. I half-wanted to stick around and meet her. I wanted to hear her story. I wanted to hear her tell how money spent on the museum could do more civil right by improving living conditions for Memphis s black poor. But we had miles to cover, and Smith was still in bed somewhere, probably on a friend s couch. sports tickets We left Memphis as the sun rose, rays bouncing off a riverbank jogger puffing along in something that looked like a tin foil spacesuit. Shortly after a quick stop at the graffiti wall outside Graceland, where I took a picture of Roop and his father from California and mentioned, perhaps unwisely, that we weren t real Elvis fans, we entered Mississippi and rode the sterile interstate all the way to Vicksburg. We drove the powerfully haunted battlefield road and looked down sobering rows of endless gravestones in the cemetery. from Ribbons of Highway: A Mother-Child Journey Across America , the book with the money-back enjoyment guarantee.

Yesterday, while Bill Simmons was talking with Joe House and Jalen Rose on the weekly podcast celebrity cruise lines facts called The B.S. Report, Bill had said some interesting things about Memphis. Just to get this clear, Bill Simmons is getting all the bad publicity right now, even though he shouldn t.
The podcast, which I was actually listening to (like I always do) was just a normal podcast in which Bill was discussing the NBA Playoffs with Jalen and Joe. Because Jalen and Bill are on the NBA countdown crew, they were in Memphis to cover the Western Conference Finals. For almost the whole show, Jalen and Bill were raving about how amazing the city was and how pleasantly surprised they were by it. They loved the food, the geography, the feel, and especially the nice people. But the part that got everyone talking about is the history aspect of Memphis. In fact, Jalen Rose ranked Memphis #1 on his Black Guy Best City Power Rankings , so you know that Bill and Jalen have immense respect for the wonderful celebrity cruise lines facts city of Memphis.
Bill and Jalen had gone to the Lorraine Hotel in their 4 day stay in Memphis. They said it was a great experience. Bill Simmons is a sports analyst, sports-caster, and sports writer. His job is to talk about sports and to relate or connect anything that he s talking about back to sports; whether it s Game of Thrones, Football, Life, or even Martin Luther King Jr. and his impact on the city of Memphis and their sports.
I didn't realize the effect [the King assassination] had on that city. [...] I think from people we talk to and stuff we've read, the shooting kind of sets the tone for how the city thinks about stuff. We were at Game 3. Great crowd, celebrity cruise lines facts they fall behind and the whole crowd got tense. It as like, 'Oh no, something celebrity cruise lines facts bad is going to happen.' And it starts from that shooting and it's just that mind-set they have.
Throughout the whole podcast, and in most of his podcasts, celebrity cruise lines facts Bill jokes about his Don t get fired rants. He says This is one of those don t get fired moments around 10 times in Wednesday s podcast, so I think he knew what he was getting into or what he was started. I m sure he didn t know how blown up it would get though
It doesn t matter how ridiculous this quote might be, he s just trying to do his job and entertain the guys (or girls) listening. Nobody s view should change of Bill Simmons by this tiny quote, especially if you have heard some of his other podcasts, which are sensationally entertaining. Plus, it s not even like he hasn t done anything like this before.
Bill Simmons celebrity cruise lines facts fought publicly with his company over his podcast in May of 2008. After that interview, there has been a disclaimer at the beginning of each of his podcasts: The B.S report is a free-flowing conversation that occasionally touches on mature subjects . He hasn t exactly feuded with ESPN since then, but you can tell by listening that he is not perfectly happy with management there. Hopefully this podcast wasn t a Don t get fired moment because he s my favorite sports writer, caster, etc. and I wouldn t stand not seeing him on NBA countdown every day.
Great blog! I don t see why people are so uptight about his statement. He didn t say anything that was insensitive, slanderous or racial he respectfully celebrity cruise lines facts said how he felt. That is one of the reasons why I like the BS Report and the Trifecta of Simmons, Rose and House. I think Simmons is always prepared on getting snatched because of his material, but the chemistry is so good that if that does happen, someone else will pick them up. I hope they just keep doing what they are doing.
I must confess I m not a sports fan but I dig your thoughtful and clear writing style. I work in a bookstore celebrity cruise lines facts and have had nothing but respect for Bill Simmons (in spite of my near anti-sports stance) having seen his Book of Basketball when it came out. Quite the tome, I must say. And to get Malcolm Gladlwell s endorsement blurb on the cover also says something.

On April 4, 1968, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated at the Lorraine Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee, just a day after speaking at the Mason Temple Church of God in Christ. Built in 1925, the Lorraine Hotel was a typical Southern hotel accessible only to whites in its early history. However, by the end of World War II the Lorraine had become detroit airport park and fly hotels a black establishment which had among its early guests Cab Colloway, Count Basie, and other prominent jazz musicians, in addition to later celebrities such as Roy Campanella, Nat King Cole, and Aretha Franklin. Partly because of its historical importance to the black community of Memphis, Martin Luther King chose to stay at the Lorraine during the 1968 Memphis sanitation workers strike. Dr. King, Ralph Abernathy, Andrew Young, and other black leaders had come to Memphis to support 1,300 striking sanitation workers. Their grievances included unfair working conditions (on rainy days, black workers had to return home without pay while paid white supervisors remained on the job, and black workers were given only one uniform and no place in which to change clothes), and poor pay (the highest-paid black worker could not hope to earn more than $70 a week). Following a bloody confrontation between marching strikers and police, a court injunction had been issued banning further protests. King hoped their planned march would overturn the court injunction, but such plans were cut short on April 4 when James Earl Ray shot and killed King on the balcony of in front of Dr. King's room in the motel addition of the hotel. In 1991, the Lorraine Hotel was converted into the National Civil Rights Museum.

The show in the fall is known as Shades of the Past. I ve never made it to the show, but last I hear
(Words and Photos by Tommy Lee Byrd) Alright, we'll be the first to admit that we go nuts over weird cars and trucks. And without a doubt, the home of weird cars and trucks HAS to be Pigeon Forge, Tennessee during the "rod run" events. They have one in the Spring and one in the Fall, and it completely takes over the town, which is just outside of Gatlinburg, Dollywood and all that good stuff. In the past 30 years, Pigeon Forge has morphed into a land of hotels and restaurants, thanks to these massive gatherings of cars. It's crazy.
This event was formerly known as the Grand Run, as it was held at the Grand Resort Hotel, but after being listed as one of the Top 10 worst hotels in the country (and honored as America's pet friendly costa rica vacation rentals Dirtiest Hotel in 2011, as selected by tripadvisor.com) it was shut down, and sold off. Now, the car show is called the Pigeon Forge Rod Run, which is pretty much what everyone called it anyway. So, let's break it down. The actual car show feature less than 100 cars and has about 60 vendors (new parts and swap meet). Obviously, this isn't exactly something to write home about, but it's the five-mile pet friendly costa rica vacation rentals stretch of wall-to-wall cars parked in every imaginable parking lot from one end of town to the other.
We'd love to know an official number of cars and people that come to Pigeon Forge for this event, but we'd estimate it's north of the 5,000-car mark, and at prime time (Saturday afternoon) you can barely walk down the sidewalks because of the massive crowd of people. The streets are crowded with regular cars, but you'll often see a bunch of crazy stuff out on the street. Drag cars, enormously huge 4 4 trucks and other crazy stuff get out on the street when the cops aren't looking. pet friendly costa rica vacation rentals Speaking of which, the Pigeon Forge Police are very strict, but hey, an event of this nature has been known to create some chaos, so it's understandable.
All in all, the Pigeon Forge Rod Run has an insane amount of stuff that caught our attention so check out Tommy Lee Byrd's pet friendly costa rica vacation rentals gallery of photos pet friendly costa rica vacation rentals to see gassers, rat rods, big trucks, weird things, and even a couple of trars thrown in the mix.
Very cool. If i could borrow a couple cars from the show its a tough decision but i would choose the blown black firebird, the 28 ford tudor sedan, and the sleeper maverick. Also is it wrong of me to totally dig that jacked-up MG or whatever it is???
The show in the fall is known as Shades of the Past. I ve never made it to the show, but last I heard, the Shades of the Past is now held on the grounds of Dollywood. One of these days, I hope to make it down, as I love visiting Gatlinburg, TN. Touristy as hell, but you can slip away into the mountains in about 5 minutes, and be looking at some of nature s most beautiful views.
Yeah, they actually have the Shades of the Past and the Fall Rod Run on back-to-back weekends in September. It s two totally separate pet friendly costa rica vacation rentals events but the town is PACKED the whole time. Interesting story, the Shades of the Past was once held in Gatlinburg, but when it moved to Pigeon Forge, it was held at the Grand Resort Hotel. Not long after that, the event staff had some sort of falling out, and moved the event off site, so the Grand Run was born. They both continue to be very popular events, even being on consecutive weekends.
We are always looking for good bang shifty stories, projects, photos videos. If you have something to share let us know. We ll give you credit for the submission (of course) and what is cooler than showing all your gang that you have a story on Bang Shift?
