I m visiting my cousin in Oklahoma but would like to pass by NY for a couple of days sightseeing. I need some advice on where to stay for at least 3 nights so we would like see the most of New York . Ideally, we would like to visit Brooklyn but since we are flying from London we d like to spend our time seeing the most we can. Any ideas of budget but nice hotels or B B s etc not far from the city ?
Have you checked out tripadvisor.com yet? Type New York City in the search box then click on hotels. The hotels are ranked best to worst based in reviews by people who have recently stayed there. You can check out rates as well. If you click on forum you can post questions and get expert information.
I would definitely take the subway over to Brooklyn and walk back to Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge. If you go at sunset the view is even more spectacular! Also, skip the Empire State Building and go to the Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center) instead. The lines are much shorter, the workers much friendlier, and the views just as nice. Try to go at sunset so that you can see the city in daylight and then watch it light up.
We will be visiting Atlantic City for 3 days, then going to New York City for 4 days. My parents age 66, my husband and I age 28, and my 2 year old daughter will be on the trip together. My father can not climb more than 10 stairs easily and we will have a wheel chair with on the trip for times when he gets winded. We will have a stroller for my child.
We will need 2 rooms at a hotel, bed breakfast, etc.. for our stay there. It will be our first time there, and we will likely not return for pleasure for 15 years or more. We do not want to spend more than $200 per room per night for a total of 2 rooms for 4 nights each at $1600.
We would like to have a unique experience and NOT stay at just a random chain-style hotel like a Days Inn or something like that. Some of the unique hotels that have been featured on the Travel Channel would be nice but we fear they might all be out of our budget . We would prefer one that offers comlimentary breakfast in the morning.
Most hotels discovery world cruises are fair expensive in the city, especially if you want it central and Times Square or Central Park. However, I found this site where they might have cheaper hotels and reviews discovery world cruises so you can look through it. However, make sure they can accomodate wheelchairs.
i have not been gone to those both city and im wondering which hotel and where is the convenient discovery world cruises and not the expensive one. and also wondering what to see in new york ? should discovery world cruises i spent more in new york or orlando? i have limited discovery world cruises budget
Ok I m 16 right now. I am also home schooled I will be returning to a public high school in Houston Texas though. discovery world cruises I have my mind set on moving discovery world cruises to New York when I graduate. I know the cost of living is a lot higher compared to Houston and that it s quite different. I will be moving there by myself with some money I saved up and will continue to save until I leave.
I don t know how my SAT scores are going to be so I may end up living in some small apartment(or hotel) and end up going to community college first then transferring over to a university when I am ready. Do you have any tips for a young (18) girl moving by herself to New York City ? If I can t afford New York City I may also check out New Jersey and surrounding discovery world cruises areas. Do you think the whole community college thing would go well first since I may not make a high enough score on the SAT to get into a good university? I will also try to find a roommate to live with if I find an apartment in my budget . How much money should I bring to last me 2 months of food, transportation, hotel or apartment rent etc. Oh also, should I go ahead and try to get an apartment when I first get there or should I stay in the hotel for a while until I get my job set up and stuff? I will hopefully have around 3,000 dollars to bring with me. Will that be enough to survive? I m not going to be eating out all the time so I m probably going to stock up on ramen noodles and stuff like that lol
I m sorry to tell you that arriving here with only $3,000 is not going to get you very far. You had better have a job lined up already, unless discovery world cruises you intend to end up on the streets. That s barely enough for one month here, not including your plane ticket here.
Remember, most landlords want this month s rent, AND an additional month s rent. Plus, it s hard to find any apartment without paying a fee (usually a certain percentage discovery world cruises of the yearly rent often as high as 15% 20% of the yearly rent.
AND if you really want to live in NYC, you DON T want to live in New Jersey or any of the other suburban areas surrounding discovery world cruises NYC. You don t have to live in Manhattan to really feel like you are living in NYC, you could live in many parts of Brooklyn and Queens and still find the NYC experience you are looking for. However, the suburbs (like New Jersey) are really not the same. Many people who live in the suburbs really discovery world cruises hate NYC. They come here to work, or maybe for some special event. But their lives are not here in NYC. There is a really firm line between being IN the City and OUTSIDE the City. It s different here than in other parts of the U.S. Our suburbs do not feel integrated into the culture of NYC.
I really suggest that you wait till you have a compelling reason for being here: job or admission to a specific discovery world cruises college. Or wait till you have a whole lot more money saved up (and hopefully a college degree as well!)
