More than 350 PGA Professionals are expected to gather this week, Nov. 21-23, at the San Diego Hotel Marina for the 97th PGA Annual Meeting. Delegates from all 41 PGA Sections, including the NENY PGA, will bring into focus the plan that The PGA is developing to further advance golf and empower PGA Professionals to grow the game.
Among those in attendance from the Capital Area: Saratoga's Dottie Pepper , a PGA Board Member, and Derek Sprague of Malone Golf Club, VP of the PGA of America. Additionally, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will deliver the keynote address on leadership on Saturday Nov. 23 and seven new Board Members will be sworn in.
Following the theme of "Charting Our Course," delegates will experience a highly interactive and engaging Annual Meeting, through such new elements such as a PGA Annual Meeting App (which delegates can download in advance), and a live Twitter feed. Alaska Airlines is changing its minimum check-in time for customers traveling on most domestic flights from 30 to 40 minutes prior to departure, regardless if a bag is checked or not. The minimum check-in time for international flights remains at 60 minutes.
The exceptions will be at airports where the check-in cutoff is already 45 minutes, such as Atlanta, Denver, Las Vegas, mount washington hotel Newark and Philadelphia. Passengers traveling from Guadalajara have a 90-minute check-in cutoff time.
