The 8 th World Indigenous Women Wellness Conference will be an excellent opportunity for participants from across the globe to share information, innovative initiatives, models, research and best practices on Family Violence and Indigenous Peoples. The conference will also provide participants with the opportunity to network.
The Planning Committee is currently searching for presenters who are willing to share their models, innovative niagara wine tours programs or initiatives and research with Conference participants. This document outlines how presenters can become involved in The 8th World Indigenous Women Wellness Conference
We have invited paper presentations from people who are actively engaged in conducting participatory research alongside or within Aboriginal niagara wine tours and/or other Indigenous communities. We are particularly interested in research that has been instigated in the first instance by Indigenous communities.

Academic scholarship must keep pace if it is to remain relevant to indigenous communities and societies.
This conference aims to bring together people from a range of disciplinary fields and nations who are engaged in developing responses to global challenges of Aboriginal and/or other indigenous peoples. The purpose is to identify common themes and key issues, and explore ideas for the future.
The conference is intended to help professionals, practitioners and researchers to locate themselves within a range of intellectual forums that are closely engaged with emerging issues. The conference will allow a sharing of knowledge, expertise and insight between both established and newly emerging networks of aboriginal and indigenous professionals and community researchers.
The conference will be held at the Westin Hotel Calgary located only 20 minutes from the Calgary International Airport (YYC). It is ideally located in the heart of the city. The Westin Calgary is within walking distance of all that our great city has to offer. Visit our many downtown attractions and restaurants via our heated in-door pedestrian walkway connecting all of the downtown. Alternatively we are within easy access of the local Light Rail Transit (LRT) providing access to all quadrants of the city for those wanting to do some sight seeing or walk a few blocks to our scenic Bow River, which offers a variety of waking trails in and around Prince’s Island Park. Pre-registration prior to Aug 29th, 2008 is strongly recommended to ensure you receive all conference materials. The tuition fee includes conference materials, conference bag, refreshments breaks, gala supper dinner, and certificate of attendance.
Refund and Cancellation PolicyRefunds will be made (less $50.00 processing fee) if written notice of withdrawal is received by August 20th, 2008. No refunds will be granted for withdrawal after that date.
Awo Taan Healing Lodge reserves the right to cancel or move this program if registration is insufficient. In the event of cancellation, a refund less a $50.00 handling charge will be returned.Ceftificate of Attendance
