Plans for the 108-room, 10-story hotel were presented at Tuesday night's Carolina Beach Town Council meeting by representatives of Blanchard & Calhoun Commercial, a group based in Augusta, Ga., that purchased oceanfront property on Carolina Beach Road from a foreclosure sale.
Rothrock said the addition of a second corporate hotel will enhance the area's tourism economy and bring more visitors to the Boardwalk, where stores and restaurants often close during winter months.
