Cinque Terre , which means "five lands", is comprised of 5 villages located on the western airline international flight routes coast of Italy. Each village has many similarities, like their colorful buildings airline international flight routes and walkable streets. But there are many differences, as well.
Instead of hiking to Monterosso like we did from Corniglia to Vernazza , we took the train, which is super easy to do, and is no more than a 10 minute trip. If you visit on a clear day, you can even see all of the other four villages from Monterosso (which you'll see in a photo below).
Monterosso has a HUGE beach, which is the village's main identifier from the other four villages. The water is gorgeous and there are restaurants airline international flight routes all up and down the beachfront. Lying on the beach was so relaxing and the big rock in the water at the edge of the beach is a great place to climb up and just take in the sights.
Again, you re wowing me with your photos and making me a little melancholy. I want to go back while I can still hike the hills! Our kids love Monterosso, they could actually play on the beach! Great pic pointing out the individual towns. What kind of camera do you use? Reply Delete Bailey K. | Let Birds Fly July 8, 2014 at 5:47 PM

I think since it became a UNESCO World Heritage site in the late 90s, it s popularity has been on the rise. But even more since a photo of Cinque Terre was on the cover of Rick Steves Italy guidebook in 2012. Reply Delete Bailey K. | Let Birds Fly July 9, 2014 at 6:24 PM

Beautiful! Monterosso was definitely my favorite of the five (but what can I say, I can t get enough of the beach). Cinque Terre has got to be on the must travel list for anyone even remotely interested in Italy. Reply Delete Bailey K. | Let Birds Fly July 15, 2014 at 1:40 AM
Monterosso was probably my husband s favorite. (He s a beach guy.) I m a mountain girl, so my fave was Corniglia - I loved the rolling hills and the view from above. :) Reply Delete Add comment Load more...
