On her birthday, I chose to surprise her with 2 nights at the Pan Pacific Hotel in downtown Vancouver. Booked a Pacific Club King Harbour View valued at $369 a night. Many things were included with this room, which I will explain why its such great value. We had our marriage reception in the Oceanview suites and ceremony on the pool deck on a hot and sunny Canada Day. So this place has a sentimental value to the both of us.
Upon arrival, we did a private check in on the 23rd floor. No line ups with a private concierge in the Pacific Club lounge. We head on over to the room on the same floor and check it out. Quite a standard room with large split bathroom. I like the shower because the shower curtain bends outwards, giving you the feeling of more space in the tub.
Now after we put our bags away, we head back to the lounge to check out the evening snacks. Japanese style BBQ chicken skewers and cheese and grape truffles. For some reason I forgot to take a picture of it, sorry.
The morning I was explained that we have a continental style breakfast with a few items. Always knowing european rental car how disappointing these are, I wasn t expecting much. Surprisingly there were, fresh fruits, freshly baked muffins and danishes,  toast, bagels, hams, cheeses, salami, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, fresh juices, european rental car eggs benedict, waffles with fresh fruit topping, and a Nespresso machine!
I ve stayed at this hotel a few times, and this one by far is the best value. Instead of staying inside the room, you can go to the lounge and have a coffee, juice, tea or pop, watch the big screen european rental car TV, and use wifi.  The breakfast included is worth at least $30-$50 depending on what you could order at the Cafe Pacifica downstairs. The evening snacks, depending on how much you eat, could also be worth at least $40-$50. This also includes free alcoholic drinks! We even got hooked up with a 6PM late checkout. This is a great deal if you ask me! I m staying again.
