that last one, Valerie' Rossmore is on Florence street in Islington, you can look at street view on goodle maps and it looks very pretty street, and within minutes of all the shops, starbucks, prets, unique shops you could want.
The Morgan Hotel in Bloomsbury has single rooms for 85GBP which includes taxes and a cooked breakfast. It backs onto the British Library, Holborn Tube is close by. We stayed there in May and loved it, very clean and great location. Good luck with your search.
travel magazines jungle You can walk alone from the Morgan, and it is "neighborhoody." I know a woman who goes to London alone and spends a few weeks there annually. At her recommendation, my daughter and I stayed there on a trip and enjoyed it. It's close to Oxford Street if you like shopping.
Second Luna/Simone!! It's on an ideal bus route, has a very helpful staff, good full breakfast. Turn left from the hotel and you'll find some neighborhood charm within a few blocks. I found it surprisingly quiet, too, although I was near the breakfast room.
Check out Londontown.com The Millenim Gloucester and Millenium Bailey"s are offering travel magazines jungle great rates with breakfast under 75 GBP for night for single. Right across from the Gloucester Rd tube, a Paul a Stabucks and a Pret and lots of services and good transport within a few yards
Thanks again for the replies. I checked the two Millenium properties travel magazines jungle for my dates and got a good bit higher travel magazines jungle rates. As for the neighborhood charm, I'm not looking for charm as much as just the availability of nearby (within a safe block or so) restaurants, pubs, groceries. And it may be that any/all travel magazines jungle of your rec's fit that requirement. I'll give Streetview a look-see.

Priceline might be a good bet. I've scored rooms with double beds for less than $150 a night without breakfast. Stayed 2x around the corner from the Gloucester tube where there is also a food market. Can't remember which one though. But I remember all the good restaurants and the Paul ( I love this chain!).
The nice thing about Bloomsbury is that from there you can walk to...City, St Paul's, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Sq,etc.. So, you can use Tube, but you can also explore. And there is a good selection of pubs, restos, Cafe Nero,etc.. in area.
I got the rate quote for dates in March and April. OP gave date of travel as late March so perhaps it will work for her. In my case I ended up in the B and B Belgravia because of availability, but with the same 99 pound rate. (still working Priceline, but wanted a fallback if that fails).
