The luncheon was the first event of its kind to raise funding for the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research
The Young Professionals Committee (YPC) of the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen® kicked off their fundraising for the Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure with a rollicking reception for more than 300 at The Rink Bar at Rockefeller Center on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Guests had access to an open premium bar and delicious hors d'oeuvres and danced to music by crowd favorite DJ Jason Fioto. Guests were also able to register for the YPC Race team and one lucky guest won a magnum of Champagne for registering at the event.
The reception served to raise breast cancer awareness among this group of rising professionals and entrepreneurs and raised funds to help underwrite grants for breast cancer research to find the cures and for local breast health screening, treatment, education and support service programs here in the greater New York City metropolitan area.
The Young Professionals Committee is made up of up-and-coming executives and professionals who are engaging a new generation in the culture of philanthropy through the fight against breast cancer. The YPC is dedicated to finding new ways to raise monies to fund innovative grassroots breast health programs in the greater NYC area and raise breast cancer awareness. This past Wednesday at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (AFIPO) hosted an evening of celebration, honoring Hans Zimmer with the Lifetime Achievement Award. AFIPO Music Director Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra performed a program of legendary film score favorites (including The Da Vinci Code, The Dark Knight, cruise wedding packages and Pirates of the Caribbean cruise wedding packages ) composed by Mr. Zimmer.
Remarks were made by Event Chairs Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem, and actor Armie Hammer, honoring the music legend. Following the awards ceremony and concert, guests enjoyed cocktails and dinner provided by Wolfgang Puck.

Late last month, 200 guests raised nearly $200,000 for capital improvements at inner-city elementary Catholic schools during cruise wedding packages Inner-City Scholarship Fund's 14th annual Project YESS Reception at the Top of the Rock observation deck at Rockefeller cruise wedding packages Center. Along with Tim Muccia, Project YESS Co-Chair and Inner-City Trustee , His Eminence, Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, addressed the hundreds of guests, thanking them for their continued support.
The evening's funds were raised from an extensive raffle and silent auction that included luxury box seats at Yankee Stadium, a behind-the-scenes tour of Radio City Music Hall and orchestra tickets to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the Rockettes; and a travel package including a round of golf at Liberty National cruise wedding packages Golf Course followed by at Mets game in the private Delta 360 Club. The top item of the night was a Jets package including on field access, four club seats to the game and a signed photograph of the legendary Joe Namath which went for $4,200.
This year 26 schools have been chosen for grant awards. Proceeds from the event will go towards updating security systems at St. Brendan School and Santa Maria School in the Bronx and Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Manhattan and will benefit Project YESS and their grants for inner-city elementary schools within the Archdiocese of New York in need of capital cruise wedding packages improvements and repairs. The grants ensure that the schools can provide a safe, nurturing environment for students as well as to help increase enrollment. Inner-City Scholarship Fund was founded in 1971 by the late Terence Cardinal Cooke and a group of prominent executives of many religious beliefs. Inner-City provides tuition assistance to over 7,500 students (92% minority and 33% non-Catholic) in 79 inner-city Catholic schools in Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island. An astonishing 98% percent of seniors attending inner-city Catholic high schools graduate, and 96% pursue college at some of the finest universities in the nation.
The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation launched Ladies Who Lunch for A Cure at a private East Side landmark residence cruise wedding packages owned by Dena K. Weiner and David Rozenholc. The event honored Nicole Miller and showcased her Spring/Summer 2014 collection before a private audience, and benefited the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation. Edeyo Foundation co-founders Unik Ernest and Michael Pradieu welcomed over 200 supporters to the 3rd Annual Edeyo Gives Hope Ball at the Liberty cruise wedding packages Theater on Wednesday, July 16th. Closing the special event was a live performance by Grammy Award winners Fabrizio Sotti and Melanie Fiona and DJ sets by Donna D Cruz and Nick Cohen.
