The Battle of New Orleans wasn’t just one battle. The United States Daughters of 1812 will conduct its annual wreath-laying ceremony in Jackson Square. The ceremony takes place at noon today, but later in the evening, fireworks will ignite over the Mississippi River at 8 p.m. There s also a wreath-laying ceremony tomorrow at De Le Ronde Ruins , which served as British headquarters during the war.
Battle reenactments take place Jan. 9-11 at Chalmette Battlefield. An armory, field assembly, marching lane, and battlefield with British and American sides are all on-site, as are reenactors dressed in authentic costumes for the period. Gates open at 9:00 a.m. each day; while Friday’s reenactment is free, Saturday and Sunday events cost $10 with tickets available online .

The Aviation Platform: After the crisis, the Commission decided to establish an aviation platform, convened by Vice-President Kallas, with key stakeholders at European level, to facilitate long-term co-ordination with the air transport sector, as well as to allow for effective short-term follow up to these crisis measures. The Aviation Platform has been established as a high-level group from the aviation sector to provide strategic advice regarding a sustainable future for air transport and a competitive future for the European aviation industry. Its members called for the full implementation of SES; for the extension of the SES principles to areas beyond the borders of the European Union; and for the definition of an effective governance structure for the future deployment of SESAR.
Technology for SES (SESAR deployment). SESAR is the technological arm of the Single European Sky. The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 has been a source of public fascination since the plane disappeared on March 8. The media has advanced countless theories of what happened to the aircraft, ranging from mechanical problems to terrorism.
Last week, the New York Times revealed that airlines have the technology to track planes such as Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, but have chosen not to use it. The Times explained that the same satellite technology that airlines use to provide WiFi to passengers could be used to track planes and the black box recorders they carry in case of crash. If this technology had been utilized, investigators would have had the necessary tools to find the remnants of the plane immediately. Investigators would then be able to use the recordings captured by the black box, which is designed to survive a crash, to finally determine what happened to Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. According to Mark Rosenker, rail travel uk the former chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, this technology would significantly improve search and rescue rail travel uk operation. The FAA already tracks domestic flights with stunning precision, and in U.S. airspace, NORAD can track any plane even if it s transponder goes dark. So, for the vast majority of domestic rail travel uk flights, satellite tracking is really not necessary.

The same way we do at the flight school s students report, but instead of paperwork, simply online. All of my fellow instructors want to have the ability to review whay they did with the students at any time. No need to be agressive on this it is a simple matter of convenience that many many many many instructors i know -including me- would like to have the option of using. And as far as the washing off our hands, it has nothing to do with that. On the contrary, it will be extremely beneficial when a student does not recall something, we can log online and show him i which flight lesson we covered the material along with everything else we did that day. This way, he can review it and perhaps resolve any upcoming misunderstandings. I feel this is totally acceptable and i don t see how me asking for advice on something that could only make our jobs better and more efficient turned out to be an attempt to wash off my hands. Including Tribal Nations in Department of Labor (DOL) Grant Programs. DOL will announce that the agency will treat federally-recognized tribal governments the same way it treats state and local governments when determining eligibility for employment and training grants. Following this announcement, DOL will consult with tribes, develop model grant language, incorporate the language into all relevant Funding Opportunity Announcements, and inform military hotels in hawaii tribal leaders of upcoming funding opportunities.
