Heads up, museum lovers: Natural History Museum (And The Page!) have some upcoming crazy events of note. Like what? A sciency cocktail party, a food preservation worshop, critter club, and more. Natural Summer fun!
Where music, science, collections, and cocktails come together. Featuring an outdoor concert with Unknown Mortal Orchestra, De Lux, and Painted Palms. Take a Museum tour with Lisa Gonzalez, Assistant Collections Manager of the NHM BioSCAN urban insect biodiversity project; hear Dr. Noah Wilson-Rich talk about the hot topic, “Urban Beekeeping in Los Angeles and Around the World”; and dance with DJs Anthony Valadez and Garth Trinidad.
Cornell discount cruise Lab of Ornithology’s eBird program has revolutionized how we keep track of birdlife throughout the world. NHM’s Ornithology Collections Manager, Kimball Garrett, has been involved with the eBird project since its inception over the past 40 years! Join us to learn how eBird works by exploring the Nature Gardens and using data tools to paint a detailed picture of the birdlife of Exposition Park, the Los Angeles Region, and the world.
