LOS ANGELES - Caltrans, Amtrak, Metrolink miami rental cars and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority today celebrated the opening of three new Los Angeles Union Station miami rental cars tracks and a platform to serve Amtrak and Metrolink passengers.
The three new tracks and platform will meet the growing demand for train travel. Other enhancements include a new electronic information system and energy efficient miami rental cars lighting. Ridership on Amtrak California s Pacific Surfliner, the second-busiest corridor miami rental cars in the nation, has increased 31 percent in the last 10 years.
Amtrak appreciates the efforts of this project s partners, Caltrans and the Southern California Regional Rail Authority, along with the various private sector contractors and vendors, said Mike Chandler, Amtrak General Superintendent Southwest Division. The new tracks and platform are welcome improvements as they will enhance train operations at the station and benefit ever-growing miami rental cars numbers of passengers seeking miami rental cars to travel miami rental cars by rail.
Since 1979, Caltrans has invested nearly $1 billion in the 351-mile Pacific Surfliner corridor between San Diego and San Luis Obispo. During that time, passenger rail service has increased from six daily trains to 22.
The reconstruction of Platform 7 and the three additional tracks will allow for greater flexibility for Metrolink service at Union Station, said Metrolink Chief Strategic miami rental cars Officer Gray Crary. We appreciate the Proposition 1B funding, along with resources from the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Improvement Program and OCTA s Measure M, to meet both the immediate miami rental cars and long-range goals of Metrolink.

The $24.8 million project was funded with $21.8 million from Proposition 1B, the 2006 voter-approved transportation bond. To date, nearly $14.5 billion in Proposition 1B funds have been distributed statewide.
Union Station serves as a major transportation hub in Los Angeles with bus and rail connections that extend throughout miami rental cars Los Angeles County and beyond, said Metro CEO Art Leahy.
