The public will have an opportunity to comment and ask questions about the proposed California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) international airplane tickets project to widen the I-405 from Costa Mesa to the Orange County/Los international airplane tickets Angeles County border on Wednesday, July 24 at the Hill Classical international airplane tickets Middle School in Long Beach. The purpose of the project is to ease traffic congestion international airplane tickets and improve traffic, interchange operations, and road safety to meet state and federal standards.
In May, a Draft Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact international airplane tickets Statement (DEIR/EIS) was released, and during the public review period, Caltrans received comments regarding potential traffic impacts within the City of Long Beach from city officials and residents. In order to address these issues, Caltrans prepared a Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact international airplane tickets Statement (EIR/EIS) which includes a traffic study evaluating existing and future traffic flow conditions within the Los Angeles County area which was not considered in the DEIR/EIS.
The I-405 Improvement Project is slated to begin in mid 2015 after public international airplane tickets review and choice of preferred options. Three alternatives were included in the DEIR/EIS released in May 2012, and two additional concepts (A B) were proposed at the April 22 OCTA board meeting.
Concept international airplane tickets A would include the addition international airplane tickets of another General Purpose lane in each direction and converting the existing carpool international airplane tickets lane to a single high occupancy vehicle toll lane requiring a minimum of 3 vehicle occupants.
Concept B would has been determined to be unfeasible at this time, pending further study largely because it would result in significant bottlenecks and high impact to surface streets in Orange County. Its scope would be outside current international airplane tickets project and funding sources.
international airplane tickets Caltrans is releasing their I-405 Improvement Project Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement (EIR/EIS) today, Friday, June 28. It will be available for public review and comment through Monday, August 12, 2013.
"It's important that residents understand how the I-405 Improvement Project will effect our local freeways and streets. The project's endpoint is in the area where the I-605 begins and the 22 freeway international airplane tickets transitions into 7th Street. I hope that Fifth District residents will study the report and attend the public hearing to be better informed about this project," commented Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske.
A Public Hearing on the Supplemental Draft EIR/EIS is scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, 6-8pm at Hill Classical Middle School at 1100 Iroquois Ave., Long Beach, CA 90315. Informational boards will be available for public viewing and project representatives will be available to answer your questions. The formal project presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. You may stop by at any time to share your comments.
During the review period (June 28-August 12), residents can access the EIR/EIS international airplane tickets at www.dot.ca.gov/dist12/405/index.htm . The Supplemental Draft EIR/EIS includes information that was not available when the Draft EIR/EIS was circulated international airplane tickets for public review and comments in May 2012.
