Our day began bright and early in Norwalk, Ohio. We mounted a Go Pro on the roof of RK527, hit the first of many fuel stops and headed cross-country to Lane Automotive for today’s lunch event. The car was doing fantastic, chewing up country curves and belting a steady roar through crisp morning air. It wasn’t until I-94 and Indiana that we started to suspect something. You see, part of being a car enthusiast is having an acute sensitivity to various smells and noises. And, unfortunately for us, part of being north of the Mason-Dixon Line is dealing with roads that’ll flat destroy a suspension. The squeak discounted cruises to hawaii began somewhere west of Michigan. And, when we finally arrived at Lake County Fairgrounds, we discovered a cracked a coil spring.
Just like that, the race was on. Here we are, 550 miles from home, googling closed parts stores, interrogating vendors that are scampering to the next stop and riding a pony that just went lame. We bounced around the show to find someone, ANYONE who knew a guy or had something that might help us out. Finally, we stepped into the Ridetech tent and met some awesome car enthusiasts by the names of Rodney Prouty and Nicholas Gramelspacher. After hearing our dilemma, Nick and Rodney promptly disassembled one of Ridetech’s display pieces and spotted us a workable spring. And, once again, the kindness of fellow gearheads had turned discounted cruises to hawaii a tour-ending discounted cruises to hawaii catastrophe into a relatively simple repair. So, we’d like to say a BIG thank you to the upstanding folks at Ridetech Air Ride Technologies. They literally saved our day!
It seems like there was something else I wanted to talk about Oh, that’s right, the event! Today was the longest stretch of driving for the 2014 tour. As previously discounted cruises to hawaii mentioned, discounted cruises to hawaii we stopped by Lane Automotive’s impressive shop and eventually rolled into Crown Point weary, but excited. MASSIVE turnout seems to be the name of the game for this year’s Power Tour, as traffic for stop number five was backed up all the way out of town and onto the interstate. The continual charge discounted cruises to hawaii into the fairgrounds was akin to watching a gladiator movie. A battalion of steel littered the green, arboraceous grounds in a sea of metallic, chrome and glass. Speaking of trees, the shade WAS greatly appreciated as, once again, we experienced excellent weather. Here’s a few photos of today’s participants. And we’ll have that Go Pro footage ready in time for this week’s email blast.
