I had the most bizarre car rental experiences in Turkey. At the airport in Kayseri, there was no car rental kiosks. The car rental agent never showed up, so I wound up giving the car to the manager (or someone) who worked at the airport. About 15 minutes later, I wanted southwest airlines 39 fare a soda and went to a tiny concession stand, where the same fellow to whom I just gave the car was behind the counter.

The cost for the mid-size was considerably more expensive than the tiny standard but I wouldn't have wanted to be driving anything with less power, safety or comfort for the nine days we had the vehicle.
