Maui hotel room rates hit a new record average of $304.02 per night for the month of July, which was 8.6 percent higher than the same month last year. According to the report, there were minor decreases in hotel occupancy on Kauai and the Big Island because visitors from the U.S. West and East were rending condos instead of staying at hotels for summer family travel. This wasn't surprising, as the benefits of condos range from more affordable rental rates to saving money by cooking instead of eating out or paying for room service. We're not just saying this because we're a Maui vacation rental management company, we're saying it because it's true.
