Living in Sterling, i'd want cruise control! Seriously, if only a simple throttle lock, its nice to relax your right hand every once and awhile. H-D has a tensioner on the throttle that can be tightened to hold the throttle open. Not a good idea to leave it that way though! Nor would I recommend use in city traffic. Just finished installing cruise on my BMW and I love it! Had throttle lock before but I always had to look at the speedo anyway. With cruise all I have to do is cover the brake and watch traffic or scenery!
Hmmm... I think of "cruse control" as a locking or setting maui vacation rentals mechanism (as in a car that permits you to relinquish manual control of the accelerator), like the "Throttlemeister" or "Brakeaway" and I think of the "crampbuster" and "throttlelocker" types as simple extensions of the throttle- since they still require you to maintain some form of control. I put 'no opinion' cuz I don't use the former, but would use the latter. ^o^

The 2007's come pre-wired for electronic cruise control so it's a relatively simple installation. Also, it has multiple interlocks so almost anything you touch will disengage it -- an important safety consideration. thank you to those who have voted so far and thanks for the welcome to Niebor I just got back into riding after about a 12 yr stint with out a bike, so my arms do get a little tired and I thought it would be nice to stretch the right one every now and then like you do the left. Our local John Deere dealership here also sells bikes and they put on a biker bash/chili feed last saturday it was great about 60 bikes and 70 + degree temps

I rarely maui vacation rentals ride on roads where a cruise control can be used, always making it a point to stay off of freeways whenever I have a choice. I could probably make use of one of those throttle rockers on long trips to allow me to relax my grip a bit, though. Cruise controls are for the boring parts. Avoid the boring parts.
On rides of several hours my right hand used to cramp up fairly often so I thought about a cruise control for a while. However, most of my riding is on winding, sometimes hilly roads, and on town and city streets, so using a fixed power setting really isn't practical. I checked out a simple throttle maui vacation rentals rocker and that works just fine for me, even on expressway trips. No more cramped hands.

Yes, I find the throttle lock very helpful in resting the right hand. I installed mine backwards from the directions so that it's a little harder to engage (I have to snap it down toward me from an upright position) but then I can flip it up and off quickly with my thumb to disengage.

I am the opposite..I feel safer on the freeways and long haul cruising would make riding a dream, now I would have to get a actual cruise control not a throttle lock, those scare me..what if they dont disconnect?

The one on my ST2 held the throttle in place using friction. It never required much effort to turn the throttle the other way to shut it off.

For the way I ride, a simple throttle lock works just fine. Primairily urban and mountains, its normally not very practical to leave the right hand unattended for any length of time anyhow. I like to be in control at all times on a motorcycle even on the superslab and I ride long distances quite often. In my opinion, cruise control belongs only on four wheel vehicles and should only be used on interstate quality highways.
I have cruise on the KGT. I use it quite often to maintain speed and relax the right hand. It works just like a car cruise. Push off the throttle maui vacation rentals it disengages, touch the brakes or clutch same thing. My average weekend ride is 300 miles so it is a pure pleasure. It lets you rest a little, and gets your eyes of the speed-o when the LEO is behind you.
I agree in essense with bkikkert. There are very rare occassions when I think it is appropriate to use it. Something else to consider ... cruise control on wet surfaces. It is simply DANGEROUS to operate using a cruise control when you have wet spots on the roadway. This is especially true if your speed sensor functions off the front wheel as in that case, when your rear tire encounters a slippery surface your engine can begin to race wildly as it tries to get your speed up, and when you pass beyond that wet spot you can literally get tossed off your bike when that rear tire grabs traction again.
