The county will be coming out within the next week or so with a joint letter expressing their position on the issue. The letter will be a little more specific but basically after reviewing the AG opinion and the Counties Beach Access Plan, we do not have the authority to restrict any particular ATV/UTV from being driven on the public beach. I own a side by side. We are a retired couple who would enjoy riding our vehicle on beaches etc., but we were told that they are not street legal but could only ride on our 2 acres. We have invested a lot of money into this vehicle, have all safety equip., bali niksoma hotel lights, tail lights, horn, turn signals, brakes, windshield etc.
There is a bit more to this than meets the eye! REVENUE! REVENUE! Cops, constables, etc., that watch way too much COP tv shows. Tickets for $150 don t deter crime! For minor infractions by otherwise law abiding citizens, yes! It is all about generating revenue for the police, more cops, more judges, more lawyers, more bailiffs, more money to feed the judicial system rather than putting the criminals in jail and showing some judgment!
I rent on Jamaica beach I take my utv that seats 6 every time. It makes our trip so much better. I have 4 children and tents towels coolers etc, with out the utv I old spend al day walking back and fourth! Thank o for giving use the right to use these machines. I will do why I can to keep all my fellow utv ers in line.
I served my country in the military for almost 25 years to keep the freedoms we have. Now I have some free time, I like to enjoy those freedoms. Some of my friends died so we can have a country we can enjoy. I like driving up and down the beach on my RZR. I obey all rules, and always have. We pay a lot of taxes, and many of these tax dollars go to fixing up the beaches so we can enjoy them (and those that live there). If those few that lived on the beach had to pay to keep the beaches and roads useable, they probably would not be there anymore. All I ask is to let me enjoy a few of those things I support in taxes and that I sacrificed almost 25 years of my life defending! I will be renting and bringing my side x side for myself ,my wife and two young girls to enjoy on the beach. I will ride in a responsible and safe manner. I would never trespass or run up on the dunes . It is good family time. Visitors like us do bring revenue to the area. I strongly agree that the trouble makers should be delt with . Don t punish the responsible riders .
This is wonderful news for my wife and myself. We are both in our 50 s and love to be on the beach. Yes I have a ATV with a ton of insurance on it. I have been on this beach for 30 years. I have seen the ATV s (which are defined as saddle seats ie: 4 wheelers and 3 wheelers) ALL OVER THE DUNES, and on people s property. As it stands right now, with just the golf carts, they cut across my property OFTEN. I have resorted in placing telephone poles across my property to try and stop it, and well, they just go around it. All of you folk out there that whined and cried because you spent 20K on a UTV/ROV to ride on the beach, bali niksoma hotel you got what you asked for. Anyone who has seen ROVs on the beach knows that many of them are not driven at a leisurely pace. Similarly most of them are not driven safely within our subdivision. This controversy has centered around driving ROVs on the public beach. In fact, there is no question that driving them on streets, roads and highways in Texas (including streets and roads on Bolivar) is illegal. ROVs are frequently seen speeding on our streets as they continuously zip back and forth from the beach to the rental houses in our subdivision. If it proves to be lawful to allow them on the beach, the Sheriff must require that they be trailered to and from the beach and must enforce the law prohibiting their operation bali niksoma hotel on Texas streets, roads and highways.

The speed limits in subdivisions is 30 MPH and you ve got much more of a problem from cars comming from 87 to the beach than with ATVs, and you ve seen the County radar up Crystal Beach Road. And NO, I don t have any rental houses, just enjoy seeing the tourist and kids enjoy themselves in Crystal Beach! I am glad to see that they are being allowed again. I am a native bali niksoma hotel of the area and am very responsible and respectful of others property. I was very disappointed last year when were were all banned based on the irresponsible actions of others. Maybe there is a good way to communicate the requirements and enforce them with stiff penalties. I am not a resident of Crystal Beach but I encourage the residents, and anyone else, to photograph or video the offenders and send them to authorities so we can weed them out and make way for us responsible riders to take a nice, leisurely cruise down the beautiful beach. I, for one, will be slowly cruising along following the speed limit with license and insurance!
Such a controversial topic and only two comments. I am in favor of letting side by sides ride the beach with drivers bali niksoma hotel license, insurance, and following all rules a licensed vehicle must follow. If someone is operating the side by side in an unsafe manner or in an area defined

Well let the wild west begin. We ll sure need a lot more deputys on duty in the summertime just to cover the renters who are the only ones that bring rov s to the beach. Note ATVS are illegal on any beach by Texas Law. Every once in awhile somone probably walks past your property so might as well just go ahead and ban foot traffic as well. ROV s are not the problem as in any vehicle. Irresponsible operators are the problem. Deal with them as individuals , not as a group.
