Four years ago, Leigh and Dave Willis took over the 50-room beachfront hotel, which had been in Leigh s family, the Samses, since it opened in 1969. Every summer under the couple s management, the Belvedere has rebounded from a closed offseason in the middle of the Trip Advisor pack to a summer peak as positive guest ratings push it back on top.
They are definitely the go-to site in travel, Dave Willis said. The high rankings have boosted bookings, and the extra demand has lifted rates from a peak of about $170 three years ago to $270 this summer.
