Hundreds of British holidaymakers have been thrown into travel chaos after Australia's national airline Qantas Airways grounded all of its planes around the world because of industrial action by staff relating to their jobs being moved overseas.
boston luxury boutique hotels Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce told a press conference in Sydney that all plane would remain grounded until unions representing pilots and ground staff reached an agreement with the airline over pay and conditions.
Qantas will lock out all employees who will be covered by the industrial agreements currently being negotiated with the Australian Licenced Engineers Union (ALAEA), the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and the Australian and International Pilots Union (AIPA).
Flights that were already in the air continued to their destination, but the airline added: 'However, there will be no further Qantas domestic departures or international departures anywhere in the world. According to Travel Mole , Qantas boston luxury boutique hotels said: 'A full refund will be available to any customer who chooses to cancel their flight boston luxury boutique hotels because it has been directly affected by the grounding of the fleet. Look on the bright side folks, BAA are coining it on parking fees for stranded aircraft, passengers mid flight are getting paid extended holidays and kids on half term are getting out of school. So all in all its not doom and gloom for everyone. boston luxury boutique hotels Pity the UK dont go on strike until we get out of the EU, that would be one for the History books!

Isn't it strange.....It happens that Alan Joyce is Willy Walsh's cousin...After WW's fiasco at trying to ruin BA could this run in the family..Quantas staff are having to suffer the same that Walsh imposed on the BA CC. He is disliked in Australia as much as WW is in the UK..Sorry to hear that all these people are stranded, but as with BA they have to stand up for their ( and Quantas's future)..I hope Joyce enjoys his 2 million bonus...Maybe he can join Walsh in exile and stop ruining airlines..
Honestly do these companys need these people like Alan and Willy. boston luxury boutique hotels All they do is meddle and upset the workforce and passengers. And what for? Well I think its just so they can say remember me I'am in charge.
Sorry, who hates Willy Walsh? Personally I'm quite a fan. He certainly boston luxury boutique hotels did not ruin BA, nor is Joyce ruining Qantas (yes, that's Qantas without boston luxury boutique hotels a 'u') . If you were to read up on some of the demands the unions are making, perhaps you'd change our views. Airlines with large cost bases like Qantas and BA have had, or intend to, make big cuts such as staff pay, for example, and other measures related to their workforce, seeing as this is typically the greatest cost for an airline after fuel. Qantas' low cost subsidiary, JetStar, for example, is without a doubt outperforming it's parent airline, purely because of it's lower cost base. And regarding your comment concerning Mr. Joyce's bonus, what do you expect from someone running a large corporation like Qantas. I don't know about you, but I believe in capitalism, boston luxury boutique hotels and thus executives surely should earn more than workers boston luxury boutique hotels in less challenging roles withing a company. Please boston luxury boutique hotels note I say 'less challenging'; the average person I'm sure wouldn't have the knowledge and experience to take responsibility of an entire company.
So you admire 'hatchett men' . Well its all well and good to go into any company and say yes we need to make savings to make it more profitable boston luxury boutique hotels but to what cost in the long term? Relocating large companies offices and maintanance to SE Asia and alike may seem like a great idea, thats until you get freak acts of mature like is happening in Thailand right now with the floods and is crippling many huge Japanese manufacturers eg Honda. I live abroad as an ex-pat and tell you without doubt that these people in such countries as India for example are simply not up to same engineering ability as certainly UK engineers and technicians(in Aviation) now you may think thats a sweeping statement but its true. Also can you blame people for wanting to preserve a decent standard in their working conditions and environment, after all I dont see any CEOs taking a step backwards in their lifestyles. Its all about greed and more greed ant then a smug, deeply unpopular CEO giving himself boston luxury boutique hotels a pat on the back when hes 'trimmed back' and made the shareholders ever so happy, well done! These actions dont help strengthen weakened economies they just serve to give maximum benefit boston luxury boutique hotels to the few and hand jobs to people overseas on a plate. Its not capitalism its greed and shortsightedness on a spectacular boston luxury boutique hotels scale.
